Create bootable Windows 11 installation USB from macOS
In this video I will explain how to create a bootable USB drive for Windows 11 installation from macOS. This can be used to install Windows 12 on both an Apple Mac but also on a regular PC. There is no need for bootcamp assistant or another Windows-based system.

In the command at 7:42, I had to replace wimlib-imagex split with wimsplit for it to work. It must have updated or something ig. Please like this so more people can see it!

its not usually the "split" part of the command that needs review its the last few commands "/install.swm 4000" make sure there is no space between this command and the previous command before it because you if you follow this video step by step for some reason there ends up being a space there when there shouldn't be and remember your in terminal where its very case sensitive

This fixed a problem I was having with the installer asking for drivers. I was just using balena etcher to write the ISO to a USB. Doing this has fixed my issue! Thank you so much :)

You are a life saver, just purchased new 12th Gen Intel processor and Asus MOBO and did not have any windows computers to install the new windows 11 OS. After many failed attempts I was ready to return my computer, I believe formatting the usb to Fat/Fat32 was the key part, I followed other forums using the brew and wimlib, tried multiple macos apps and had no success.Thank you kind sir!

Jesus, this video saved me. I just bought a HP Victus 15 and windows 11 separately. Win11 usb didn't work and I only had one mac to make a bootable usb with the windows 11 ISO file. @@jensdbe im the same as Kabel, but now when I plug in the USB to the PC I built, it doesn't show up as an option for booting. I'm in the BIOS for my motherboard, but I only see one boot option - my hard drive. I followed along with the video and my USB files look exactly the same as in the video. Any tip for troubleshooting?

As many of these other comments say, this was the first video i found that was incredibly helpful. I am moving from my macbook pro to building my first gamiong pc and this was the last part i needed! This video was so straightforward and easy to follow along. Where other videos skipped over the part if you have am M1 mac, yours did not. Thank you!
