How to Install Windows 11 on a Mac, A step by step guide

Hey guys, in this video I'm going to walk you through on a step by step guide on how you can install the latest windows 11 on a Mac
As a disclaimer, this is not the official release of Microsoft windows 11, this build is only for those that might want to test out windows 11 on their Mac. In that case I will advise you to wait for the general public release of Windows 11 but if you really want to test out windows 11, do it at your own risk. If you follow the steps properly, everything should just be fine.

You can always use any other ISO maker of your choice as I stated in the video. Someone also posted a comment on how you can get that part done on your Mac without a third party software. Check the comments section

@@muhammadhamadan9951 Try using the official windows 11 iso. A lot of the steps he used in this video was probably because windows 11 wasn’t released publicly at the time. You don’t need to go into the folders and move files. All you need is to go to Microsoft’s website and go to windows 11 and there’s download links to download windows 11 on Microsoft’s website. Use the windows 11 iso and boot camp to complete the installation. I’m gonna say it again. You don’t need to copy everything EXACTLY as he did in this video. This video is a little outdated now. There’s no need to move files between the folders or anything. All you need is the windows 11 iso and then just use boot camp to complete the installation. Oh, and one more thing. If you just use the windows 11 iso it’ll probably tell you something along the lines of “your pc doesn’t meet the minimum requirements for this installation” if you see this error message just look up “how to install windows 11 on unsupported hardware” and there’s a bunch of videos that will pop up which will show you how to bypass the TPM and SecureBoot requirements and install windows 11 normally. I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes if you do decide to try it.

You don't need the Windows 10 ISO, you can edit some registry keys before setup to bypass the TPM check and Secure Boot check

for the ISO file, we can modify it as it did, but it is forbidden to give it for download other than on Microsoft's servers, otherwise it is piracy, and this is prohibited in the Microsoft terms and conditions :(

I make iso whit LiquidCD and try it on VirtualBox. For this moment, install processing good. Choose Data section. Adding folder whit + icon on the down. Preference icon at the right of adding folder and choose save as disk image.

I am having issues with getting those ISO files, I definitely wish you showed more specifically on how you downloaded them, the links help, I downloaded what I thought would be .iso but I only got windows folders and applications through the Windows 11 link, it says I can convert the selected UUP set using aria2 and convert it to ISO. I am trying to figure it out now but it is not easy. The Windows 10 link did work pretty well. Nonetheless, thank you dude!

I checked with intel power gadget and temp of CPU not reducing in windows mode. But in normal osx ( big sur) it is reducing, in windows 11 Constant cpu 73-75c. My macbook is late 2013, pro, 4gb ram, 2 TB hdd. I think there may be a-risk of burn. Use this method for long run of windows 11 only after checking the temp with intel power gadget !

I get an error on setup saying -- Windows cannot open the required file C:\Sources\install.esd. make sure that all files required for installation are available and restart the installation. Error code: 0x8007000B

I can't found "install.esd" on Windows 10 iso file. But, I found "install.wim" on sources directory on Windows 10 iso file. And then, Can I simply copy the "install.wim" from the Windows 11 iso file to sources directory in windows 10 and overwrite it?

Good video but outdated. The latest Win10.iso does not have .esd file. It has the same .wim file. Also AnyToISO 3.9.6 lite does not allow creating a large ISO. Need to update instructions for this to work.

You can use any other ISO maker, it will still work fine. Alternatively, watch my other video on how to update your existing window 10 installation on a Mac to windows 11. In a simple term, install windows 10 first on your Mac and then watch the video to see how you can update the windows 10 installation to Windows 11. It's very simple and it doesn't require you to purchase anything. Thanks for watching

@@jerryodii6550 Yes, it will work just fine as long as you do right thing. What I mean is that, don't delete the Mac partition in the process of installing windows 10. Just use bootcamp to install windows as usual. Let bootcamp do its thing

There's absolutely no risk and those links does not carry viruses. If you follow the steps properly, it won't affect your MacOS partition and all your data should be intact.

IMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for the video. If you don't want to purchase the iso maker, use Disk Utility -> Mount -> From File -> Rename file.dmg -> file.iso -> Right Click file -> mount. This is very important as other third party iso make corrupt the .wim file for me & couldn't install at all (It said, "missing install.wim bla bla bla"). Also make sure the win10 iso language matches the win11 iso language(it gave me a hard time). Also if you have latest win10 iso download, you will already have install.wim, so no need to rename win11 install.wim to .esd but simply copy past that file to win10 src files. Also, you can install any version & jump to another one after you install(if you have win10 product key for that version). Eg, I installed home & then after installation used education key (it will do a quick update). And now I have fully activated Windows 11 Education running on 2019 16" Macbook Pro using bootcamp.

That's was one of the reasons I recommended a recent windows 10 ISO file, but then again it will still work. After all the installation, it will change to windows 11

Looks like Windows 11 now uses the same install.wim install file name and you can just use disk utility and make image from folder then change dmg extension to iSO.
