Hi, thanks for sharing your knowledge. How about using index color separation?
@StartScreenPrintingNowTV8 жыл бұрын
+TJ C thats something I'm still working on for a later video

Thank you for your fast reply. Can I use index separation for this kind of artwork? What I'm really asking is what's the difference between your method and index separation?

Awesome vid! Thank you. I'm wondering, when going through the bitmap process, how did you choose your Halftone Screen Options? Specifically, the Frequency, Angle, and Shape? Trying to figure out how to set those from project to project. Thanks!

Do you know how to do a indexing color to get a color separation? Thanks for your tutorial
@StartScreenPrintingNowTV8 жыл бұрын
+Lorena Posadas thank you Lorena. I can do an index separation tutorial in the future
@lucreciatex8 жыл бұрын
That will be awesome. I will truly appreciate if you make a tutorial and If you teach us how to use the indexing colors mode. And clarity how to use the different options of the mode, as well as how to use the color tables. Most of the arts I had been indexing come with a mix of colors in the pixels and I have to invest a bunch of time cleaning the arts after indexing because this salad of colors results in issues when we send the arts to production at the mills. We use basically 18 colors maximum and we have to reduce arts from 150 colors or more into 18 colors, I will appreciate if you do a tutorial. Let me know so I can check your tutorial. Thanks for all your help
@ksart53469 жыл бұрын
could u also go to the filter option for the half tones?
@StartScreenPrintingNowTV9 жыл бұрын
Hey +Vice Kervens . Mmmm not really. You're talking about the option under pixelate right? It doesnt really give you any options or control over the dots per inch except for pixel radius but thats not very helpful in this circumstance.

If your just adding a text layer to an image to separate the color for screenprinting, do you still have to halftone the text?

On 12:14 you selected all black sections on the channel with the command but how do you do it on Windows? or without shortcuts?
@StartScreenPrintingNowTV8 жыл бұрын
On windows you would use the CTRL key. I actually dont think there is a way to do it without a shortcut. I'm not seeing anything in the menus unless I'm missing something. Shortcuts are always better though.

Hey brother do you have any videos on the print settings in Photoshop when printing films? Much appreciated!
@StartScreenPrintingNowTV8 жыл бұрын
+Willy Martinez Jr Hi Willy. I strongly suggest exporting your file into Illustrator to print from your RIP software. If your colors are separated into channels I would save it as a DCS 2.0 and place it into Illustrator. If you have each color as a layer I would save each layer individually as a full black TIFF and drag them into Illustrator.
@tjchan778 жыл бұрын
Hi, I don't have RIP software, can I still place it into Illustrator?

Very clear instructions, but when I go to fill with black, it just comes out gray, even when I crank Fuzziness all the way to 200 (of course, at that point lots of other stuff besides the blue that I'm selecting (from a very simple three-color poster). I'm not a PS novice, but I feel like I'm missing something obvious. Suggestions?
@fabiomrmatos8 жыл бұрын
been enjoying your videos, can u explain me why u did that way instead of converting the image to CMYK and bitmaping the channels of each color? also u didn't used any RIP
@StartScreenPrintingNowTV8 жыл бұрын
+fabim matos Well you only want to do process separations (CMYK) in certain situations and it can be tough to perfect it. If you are separating a design, or photo, or painting that technically has millions of colors and its going to go on a white shirt, you can attempt to print it using process (CMYK). This design is only two colors so doing simulated process allows me to choose the pantone colors that will need to be printed. Simulated process just really gives you more control over the final printed design. I dont have RIP software on my machine at home so I cant do a screen recording of it.
@fabiomrmatos8 жыл бұрын
+Start Screen Printing Now THX for responding, so in my case I should keep using the CMYK method I do a lot of images with lot of colors , I don't do screen printing I do pad printing but the separation process is the same I think only difference I also do a background because we print things in transparent plastic cups , but the way I do is far from perfect also I use a cheap inkjet printer it just don't do the job sadly :(

@QuantumBunk8 жыл бұрын
It's got a little confusing there at the end… With the channel overlay etc. did you just throw away the original image? You have a lot of windows popping open and closing appearing and disappearing and I have no idea where they were going or what was happening !! I didn't understand what was going on it skimmed over a lot of stuff without explanation...

Bro-chacho, couldn't one just quick selection a color, click on similar, then copy to new layer?
@StartScreenPrintingNowTV9 жыл бұрын
Sup Brochacho. So that could work if you had some art that was lots of blocks of 100% color but you're not likely to get that all the time if its coming from a client. If it has any halftones or tints of color you would need to keep adjusting the tolerance on the magic wand (I'm not sure if there's a way to adjust the tolerance on the quick selection tool?) until you are getting every percentage of the color you want and none that you dont want. This way you can adjust the threshold of color range in real time to make sure you're getting 100% of your color and avoiding the others. I hope that helps!
