Create Colouring Books with The Publishers Vault - Low Content Book Publishing Game Changer

Thank you for another great video. ❤ Although I have to add, that there is still the same problem of a very small number of images (30), available for use PER NICHE. So even if there are only 100 KDP publishers using the Vault subscription to create coloring books, for example, then they still only have a very limited amount of images PER THEME to choose from. If there are a 1,000 KDP publisher's using these themes from their vault subscription, then the re-use of the pre-made images is even worse! So it's no different than using images from Canva, or any other source, due to 1,000's of self-publishers making coloring books in the popular themes, with the small number of images to choose from overall, the problem of all of those coloring books from KDP publishers looking the same, continues on. Someone had mentioned there are over 40,000 coloring books out there on Amazon, and I am sure that the high numbers are due to KDP publishers flooding the market with coloring books that all have that "same" feel because by now, they have all more than used and re-used the pre-made artwork available. That means they have most likely already exhausted the use of those images in their coloring books, because those characters and backgrounds would have repeatedly been used in those Vault member's KDP coloring books.

Wow, thank you so much Nuria! Just started KDP and listening to all the videos on KZbin regarding images and altering them to be safe, it was quite a topic! Thank you for all that you share, I’ve decided to soften the noise and watch your channel mainly. This sounds like a wonderful opportunity and I really like it. In the FAQ it states that we do not have the copyrights to the images, even if we customize them. Once again same issue for kdp.

It's not a problem. Even if you had an illustrator create the images for your book, you would still not have the copyright. The original creator would retain the copyright. There would hardly be any books published if we had to have the copyright for every image. When Amazon asks us to confirm that we have the copyright, they mean the copyright to our book, not individual images. Think about children's books, they are usually illustrated by somebody other than the author. But the author still has the copyright to the book and will confirm this to Amazon. As long as we have the correct licence, we hold the necessary publishing rights.

hiya, you have publishing rights 100%. When you join my membership I retain the copyright of the images but you have publishing rights. The copyright amazon kdp refer to is the book that you have created. hope that helps.

Everybody who has the membership gets the same illustrations. The way to make them unique is by combining the backgrounds with the characters, or by adding multiple characters to one background. You could even interchange the different characters from one niche with the backgrounds from another. There is no way any two people would end up creating the same book. Thanks for this Nuria 🙂 I've used Huw's colouring book images before and know how great they are and I agree with you regarding ai. I use it for many aspects of my work on KDP but colouring images are tricky and very time-consuming to get right. I have a question about Etsy. I have a shop where I sell pdf guides for teaching assistants and have a couple of pdfs that are themed colouring images for primary-aged children. I'm a little uncertain as to whether I would have to name Huw as a production partner. From what I've read on Etsy I think this probably isn't the case because, as with my KDP colouring books I would be creating pages that have a mix of characters, backgrounds and other elements so essentially I am creating a whole new product from Huw's images but I just wondered what your take on this is, please ❤

Yes you can, but I don't think they are perfect for colouring and you have to make a lot of changes to the images. I don't think it's at a level that produces good colouring pages yet, but that is just my personal opinion.
