Your coaching technique is a phenomenal way to move each student forward. Your talk here reminded me that I started painting to create a vision of spring and immerse myself in it’s warmth while living through the cold wet miserable end of winter.

I would absolutely love to watch you paint and abstract I think it would be the most amazing thing because you are so disciplined it would be harder for you and you would try harder.

I'm not a painter. I use colored pencils and graphite. Does your advice go for artists like me? The way I hold my pencil, I guess I'm always thinking. Holding it the way you were telling the painters would be so odd. I doubt i could get the details I like holding pencils like that. I'd like to draw and not think so much.

I work in pastels. I have tried painting, but I feel I am much better at pastels, since it's more like drawing. Similar to your work. Stefan's advice is transitional, I think. He's a great teacher, and I've learned so much from him - which I incorporate into my pastels. So yeah, I think it's worth listening to him. He explains the concepts of good art, like I've never heard anyone else do.

Great, teach rather than preach, but really I’d say, you are the only one who can hone in and develop your natural style at your own sweet pace. You can deffinately put feeling into paintings. Using colour with shade and light. Vincent tried to get motion into paintings and light and most viewers at the time couldn’t see his beautiful form. It’s a silent thing filled with colour and light which shouts at you from behind the curtain of your own self doubt. You never will quite get out into canvas your true essence. But an artist will always try.

I think sometimes convention doesn’t allow new thinking and it looks bad when if fact only just emerging in the artist. I think encourage rather than discourage, using example through your own techniques, but know most students can’t do what you do, because they aren’t you. Only experience painful and long will draw out their best work. So stunt you need determination and a willingness to change but if you away from convention know it never will be right to some. If it’s right to you OK, explain to me why it’s right in every painting you do and Oh in fact if you find down the line you can improve by using some convention techniques to highlight what you want to say and the story you are telling in that painting. If th3 painting hasn’t got a story to me it’s going no where.
