I like your viewpoints....I have learned basics from many artists, but have learned to shy away from anyone who mandates that you paint exactly as he or she....your emphasis about always maintaining a focal point has made my work shine....at least most of the time...😏. Your explanations are invaluable...much more effective than teachers telling you "do this" and never explaining why or how different ways will cause different effects.

Great information, Stefan. Now, I know you discourage KZbin videos, and I do agree that one can get so involved in obtaining information that they never paint or create. Now, what you say about brushstrokes is so true and very important. Jill Poyerd Fine Art has produced a few videos on the importance of brushstrokes that is so valuable to view. Invest the time to gather this information that will reemphasize what Stefan is saying in this video. Give it a try and you will see that this is time worth investing.

this is so true about galleries...for a year this big complex has wanted local artists to hang stuff so I go up he hands me some command strips which within 5 minutes one falls as its concrete walls. Now he is still asking our guild but theres no way to hang anything...he suggested we buy those grid panels. I mean ughh
