You could use this spell as a non-conflict resolution to an encounter... There is a den of starving bears or jackals and you distract them. A tribe of destitute goblins who suck at hunting are complaining about their starving families and your scout overhears them.

It's not bad. A little prestidigitation will fix the bland right up. Use it in combat for difficult terrain. The water is perfect for science and spoilage can be a great way to attract unwanted critters.

@@cavernsandcreatures That should have been "horned in on," or at least, my best recollection was that Goodberry in earlier editions required you to have berries on hand to imbue with magic while in 5e it creates the berries out of nothing.
