I can say the closure of the google street view app. Has increased my workflow. I can't do it on the fly from my phone. And working in remote areas away from my PC doing the 360° photographs it's just impossible for me. I liked doing from my smart device. Since the closure of the google street view app. I have concentrated my efforts on my KZbin channel. In the hope that one day the google street view app will come back. Just using the street view studio is just a pain when travelling light as it can't happen. You do a awesome job. I will keep watching.

How do you deal with crooked, not aligned to the horizon, bad leveling due to swaying camera when capturing Google street views? I noticed Kitty's camera was not perpendicular to the horizon when she was walking around. I've uploaded street views that are crooked and have no blue line and was told Google will correct for the bad horizon but has not. Labpano reports that they are not authorized to do any leveling even though they could fix it by having the PilotSteady active during capture (but they have chose to NOT have this function available during Google Streen view mode.)

So yes, no vendor can correct the horizon by injecting Gryo data. Google SUPPOSED to do that - but it’s hit or miss. If you see my tour on Google (blue line - find Venice Beach Cali) the intro couples are crooked. But some of them did get corrected. It’s all AI. The ONLY solution is to use third party app like Gothrou to do it and re-inject meta and upload on GoThur.

It is free for up to 4 pano. Most of the time it should be enough. If you need more than 4 free - you can try Panoskin - not as powerful as Gothru but you can create a massive tour - just once per month limit.

For now I recommend the Theta X. Theta X has built in GPS, plus 10 frame per second and 2 frame per second options. The 2 FPS is perfect for walking, and the 10 FPS is perfect for my e-bike. Just record, and upload through street view studio. It's as simple as that. No third part software needed. There are other cameras with better quality, but none with an easier workflow.

In GoThru if i already have a tour active and visible on street view but i want to edit existing photos or add new ones should i import the tour from street view and then reload it? the problem i had is that in my first tour i had the auto nadir patch active by default, i downloaded the tour and changed the option but now i have two tours on the GMB page. thanks for the help

It should be “update” not upload new tour after you import them. There is a tutorial on their YT page.

If Mi Sphere GPS is as accurate as other camera - it really depends on your camera GPS data. I don't have Mi Sphere so I am not sure. Something you should def talk to MiSphere.

Thanks Hugh. I captured 2000 meter with Z1, the GPS accuracy is regular. have to correct manually in Lightroom. Maybe the best ways it's capture with insta pro2 in 8K 5fps.

Yes Insta360 Pro 2 is the best for blue line but it is also pretty expensive.

Thank you for your very helpful and free tutorials. We just started to dive into the topic of virtual tours / 360-photography for our small business. After investing in a Theta z1 I feel quite unhappy about the changes Google announced. The streetview-app is having some problems right now, I seem not to be able to upload without the app crashing or ignoring some of my uploads, it is placing geotagged images not where they are supposed to appear and on top of that, they will now not let me correct these issues manually? Totally not cool, Google. Anyway, I am really grateful for the information you provide in all of your tutorials and wish you all the best. Thanks a lot!

Unfortunately still cannot get the stitching to work accurately at all for backlinking/going to previous photos. Navigation arrows are too difficult to manually adjust as a beginner, not really much time spent on it in this video, you sped up that part

I got a Google Pixel 6 and the GPS in it is horrible, I took a photosphere in one location and thought Google would use the map and a average of all the GPS locations in the photo, but it placed my sphere way off, so all I could do was to remove it rather than edit a almost perfect photosphere, so I hope there soon will be some form of manual location correction for photos and spheres that Google not been able to place correctly.

I hate Google because they killed street view app. SV app should support basics (set position and orientation, connect pictures) because it is enough for basics tours. I don't want to pay for 3rd party app when I create free tour which will update Google Street view (e.g. Public parks). Current version of the app is useless.

Thank you for the feedback! The solution in this tutorial allow you to create tour for free still for up to 4 pano. If you have more than 4 - you can also try Panoskin - another software allow you to create an entire tour with unlimited photo. But limit to create once per month. Between this 2 solutions - I usually find enough to replace the old SV app. For mapping public street view - mostly do it for fun - usually won't have more than 1 massive tour a month and small tour we can just use GoThru. But yes, Google should not remove those features.

This is extremely disappointing! I spend a good deal of my free time exploring the planet in Google Earth VR. I live for finding people's Photosphere uploads, and I love when businesses upload photos of their interior - gives me an idea where to eat and where to stay when I visit in real life!
