You may want to let people know that Immersive viewer only works in certain cities. Only list I could find: lAmsterdam, Berlin, Dublin, Florence, Las Vegas, London, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Paris, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, Tokyo and Venice.

All these nifty features when most people would be happy if they 1. quit auto refreshing and blowing away the view and route, 2. show the damn street names, and 3. support Saved Routes.

Ditto, no obvious ways to navigate the app consistently. Always having to use trial & error method to bring up the app screens I want. Requires memorizing the sequence of taps vs intuitive obvious UI.

Hi. Any suggestions on better use of maps while using walking directions? I always find that it’s really hard to use, and quite counterintuitive which direction to walk, until I see my location moving - I must be doing something wrong!

Hi, I just tried immersive view in the evening, and the lighting changes to twilight, but also it shows the night sky with the moon in the correct place and the right phase showing the new moon. Thanks for letting us know about this. Works fine on pixel 6a.

When you download a map and plan a trip with several intermediate stops and you just passed by one it warns you about to continue to the next stop or go to the one just passed by. It does not react to my selecting Conitnue to the next stop. Thank you for yor valuable tips.

I find if I search out a route and view the directions ahead of time, it remains in my device and can be used for the journey. No need to download the map for offline use taking up storage.

Hey Tasia, thanks for a great video, some great tips in there. I'm hoping you can help me with a Google map proble. I want to map out a walk I am doing. I'm planning on walking 12 miles a day. Is there a way to plot this on a "Google My Map?" I'm going to be walking for about 30 days so need to plot each day individually in a singel map. Can you help? Thank you in advance, Gx

Hey, yes I believe you can do what you're asking. Head to Google My Maps and click on 'create a new map'. Go to the top left and click "Untitled map." Give your map a name and description. You should be able to plot out or add your walking route. You would simply save each route as their own map (so title them appropriately). In former days there was Google Latitude which gives you the possibility to share your location only by showing the city you're currently in. I then had many contacts on my map visible (as they were willing to share their location not by city and house but by town) and in two occasions I had make a spontaneous appointment with them. Too bad that Google still doesn't offer this. And if they do now, they probably will take it away soon (again).😕

I just got a new Samsung tablet. Downloaded maps. I need to add multiple stops (up to 10) to my route but all of the instructions are to either click on the 3 dots or the directions button on the bottom left. There is no 3 dots and no directions on the bottom left. Can you help?

I think I know what you mean...I don't think so. You can see flight information, but I don't believe there's real-time tracking during the flight in Maps (assuming you have wifi). You can use Google to simply search the flight number and it'll tell you status :)

He tried to explain how he did that and I have never been able to do it. He did say that you have to download areas online then be able to use them off line. Make sense?

Could you please ask Google management to share revenue with Google Local Guides who contribute photos, reviews, videos, ratings, and suggestions that enable people across the world reach their destination without hassle? Google currently shares revenue with KZbin contributors but not with Local Guides. As a Google Local Guide, I know that it takes time and money to travel to the place, take photos, take videos, park the car in parking lot, pay parking fees, pay entrance ticket at some places, then equipment cost, commuting, paying for eating while trying various food, etc. In return, Google teases the Google Local Guides by gifting a badge, which is of course nice. However, life needs money for sustenance. So Google, please be nice to Google Local Guides just like you are generous to KZbin contributors.

Tap on your profile in the top right and select "offline maps". There you should have downloaded maps, recommended maps, and the ability to select your own map based on your location. If you want to download from a search, search for the city first then swipe up from the card on the bottom. Doing so should reveal a three-dot menu icon in the top right. Tap that and select "download offline map".
