With this amount of options I really have to start asking myself: Was all of this implemented by some nerds who just wanted to nerd out just for the sake of it? Because in terms of sheer practicability I highly doubt that anyone will ever notice these super fine adjustments in the bokeh. Sure someone like us who is now trained to pay attention to this will notice it but most of us are probably in cinema movie productions and most viewers will not notice any difference. Please don't get me wrong here, I'm one of those nerds who absolutely loves to perfect the heck out of things like this to get the perfect result I'm looking for. I'm in love with C4D and Redshift because of all of these options because I can basically create a whole friggin world exactly to my liking down to the bokeh, but if I ever create an animation that's perfect in my eyes and I show it to others they're probably never gonna say "bro that hexagonal bokeh map was the right choice". They didn't have to make it this scientific. But they did and I love it. But the people who will appreciate this the most will probably still be us, not the viewers. Also mad props to the GSGs for this large library of bokeh maps.

Thanks! We think that these details matter. Even if your customers don't know the tech behind it, they certainly feel it. DPs have been using specific lenses with specific out of focus looks for decades to invoke different emotions in their audience. We think motion designers should have access to these same techniques. And our Bokeh Maps do just that.

Blur in Japanese is Bekeru and is pronounced like "Bo Kay Ru". So, Bokey is like "Bo Kay".
