Hey, is it bad practice to do a design in illustrator and blow that up so you make it 3d and importing it as an Object?
@toericht Жыл бұрын
no that also works pretty fine, we also did that sometimes. you can use it as a base for working more in blender. the only thing is that the geometry sometimes isn't optimal and you might need to remesh it :)
@hasj Жыл бұрын
@@toericht yeah i had that issue, I’m using it to create text for next.js, a web 3d library and like that its too heavy for phones

Hey, do you use specific parameters to show the shadows and the metallic effect of the shape? I can't get a result that is close to yours
@antoninml81462 жыл бұрын
or can I see the project files some where to look at the parameters in more detail?
@toericht2 жыл бұрын
hey :) yes project files are available on our patreon page www.patreon.com/toericht if you want to create the material we've got a tutorial here : kzbin.info/www/bejne/maCUpo2srrupoKc you just need to play around a little bit with the lighting and environment, it's a fairly simple setup :)

i tried to apply this tutorial on my own typography but somehow blender won't let me light up my scene. when i add lights nothing happens and my scene still appears to be dark/grey and i can barely make out the letters in render mode. any ideas how to fix this problem?
@toericht2 жыл бұрын
Hello Philip, thanks for watching our tut. :) It's always hard to make a diagnosis from afar, but I think your problem might be the strength of your light. you can find the settings by clicking on your light -> on the right go to object data properties -> adjust this number. by default it's set to 10 but usually that's not enough. about 1000 oder even more are needed sometimes. Also set your render engine to cycles and not evee. Hope this helps!

amazing tutorial! question, how do you continue extruding/modeling from surfaces that have been extruded and have no vertices in the middle? are you creating new virtices?

Neat video. Can these files be transferred over into Photoshop?
@toericht2 жыл бұрын
Hello and thanks for your compliment. We're not a 100% sure what you mean. Basically Photoshop is also able to open .obj-files, but you have to export your blender file as such first. You can also render your set as PNG and then open that PNG in Photoshop. Hope that helped, if not, don't mind asking again! :)
@joelzusein2 жыл бұрын
nice tutorial but it would be cool if you could give a breakdown of what you did after 13:18 i kinda lost it there
@toericht2 жыл бұрын
thanks for your feedback. since there was no system behind this but just trying different lighting / materials, I didn't see any reason to explain this. This is just a process of trial and error until you found something, that you like. It's really important to us that you don't copy 1:1 what we're doing, since you learn A LOT more by trying and finding solutions on your own. Hope this makes sense. good luck and a lot of fun working in blender! :)
@joelzusein2 жыл бұрын
@@toericht fair enough. i think practicing with the nodes is the easiest way to learn them :) theres just so many of them and most of the time i dont know why you plug in which node into which.

Really love your guys videos but this is not a full tutorial, it's more of a workflow walk-through which is fine but I'd really appreciate a full tutorial where in the end I would be able to follow steps and replicate your project. Also proper labeling so I don't get my hopes up :
@toericht2 жыл бұрын
Hey thank you for your comment :) But to be fair every step you need to take to create such an artwork is explained in the video except for maybe the metal material at the end. but we have a tutorial on this here :) kzbin.info/www/bejne/maCUpo2srrupoKc Also as a creator/designer why would you want to copy someone else’s es work 1 to 1? Isn’t the goal of tutorials, learning techniques and then making them your own to infuse them with your own creativity and ideas to create something unique to yourself.
@mytrp76162 жыл бұрын
@@toericht Thank you for replying. I totally agree with you. 100% of people including me follow many tutorials from many sources in order to learn the steps and then to make our own original creations. But there's a difference between a "workflow walk-through" and a "tutorial". Your Chrome/Metal tutorial is a good example of a good tutorial that is easy to follow and very informative, I'm very excited to do it myself. Ultimately, thank you for all your efforts and taking the time to share your knowledge. I'm greatly appreciative and am a huge fan & will always be supportive of your channel that's why I'm hoping for more complete tutorials. Even non-narrated complete workflows are super helpful🤞
