I so agree with this technique graduating from Beauty School 1972 we always applied on wet hair oh always started in the because the back does take longer to balance it out glad to see they're doing this on wet hair again

Another answer is the top hair is thinner and gets sun and weathered most. It was taught in old school to start at the back even in the 60 70 and 80s to start at the nape crown area first.

One salon in my country is working with Joico. Up until that day I’ve never heard of the brand so I started watching these videos and I can say I like the products and that very hard for me to happen to like something new cos I know what I want and need so I think Joico can give me that quality Im used to give to my clients. So I think I will accept the job.

awsome i love the colour. i can say that the salons here will put so little lightener on and and the end it is like powder. horrible. many kan learn from this. 💖

I was taught to not slap straight to the scalp/ roots so soon, as the bleach swells up to there anyway . I prefer to start the crown down, as the nape hairs are fragile and its a hotter area of the head. I also find the crowns more stubborn. On root touches, I rotate where I begin each service, to avoid weaking areas.

Did you mix the toner with a level 10 developer? Looks great! Always freaks me out to see so much lifting product on hair but I'm going to try the wet application next time, totally makes sense.

The reason it takes longer to process at the back is because hot air rises. So, the top of the head processes faster than the back.

Her front roots were white then there was a golden mid shaft. Ends were light as well. I guess someone forget to leave the 1/2in of scalp hair then apply bleach. Speed through her hair looked good after but the rootes looked yellow ! Why and what did you use for the toner on the scalp? It should not been yellowish at her top.

Great video! When we are working on wet hair, do we bump up the developer to accommodate dilution? ie- using a 20 instead of a 10?

It’s like a bleach wash right? I can’t see this working on below a level 6-7. It works on her cuz dark roots but on scalp so has heat, the rest level 8. So yeah it will work on those. Anyone else how? The lighter must break through water too🤔🤷🏻‍♀️ *note: the back of the head usually higher density(more hair) and cooler. Top of head hotter and less hair so processes fast

Someone help please. I'm not a stylist but I have really been considering going icy blonde, or more platinum. (at a salon! I'd go bald if I tried it myself) I've been watching tons of videos to see how it's done properly and to know what to ask for. I have a question; is it recommended to put bleach on the scalp? This looks beautiful but some videos say not to and others put it on. (I'm a level 4 ish)

I usually stay a half inch ro and inch from the roots...do the midshafts first..the heat of the scalp makes it process faster..and the lightened usually swells up and get closer to the roots anyways... with this gal she had lighter ends that he didn't need them to lighten as much as he did with her regrowth.

I have yet to ever receive an answer to any question from Joico and I spend a lot of money in my salon using these products but will try one last time before possibly switching after 6 loyal years in my salon for an educator who actually makes true on his/her promise of answering legitimate questions, how long did you let the 9sb sit for and is that a good toner for yellow or would a V or b work the same? I have the sb’s but a bit scared of grey cast so I haven’t used them yet. Thank u

Hey Jodie, I have been a long time Joico only salon as well. I have found that the toners like the one use here need to stay in longer than when I create the toner. Normally toners are in for 5-10 minutes but I have had to leave this type on for 15-20 mins but I also do this while hovering over my clients hair for those last minutes testing to make sure it didn't over processes and go silver. I have never received answers from any forum from Joico unless I call them.

Thank u Rebecca that’s what I do as well but a Redken rep has been coming to my salon a lot obviously looking for me to switch and educating on the shades eq and she says with shades the way to look at it is for every minute the toner is on is how long the toner lasts per wash ex.... 2 minutes lasts 2 washes so the longer you leave it the longer the result and if the hair is porous to dilute with the crystal clear so I was wondering if that was the rule of thumb with Joico as well so I appreciate your input. Alicia, if you aren’t giving input for the soul purpose of helping, try to just keep strolling instead of rearing the ugly head! No need for sarcasm on a learning site, try Facebook for snarky shit like that-- by Felicia

Maybe your clients natural under Tones were much warmer . I have clients who look a 5 base, yet have hardly any warm undertone. They go straight from a 5 to a yellow. No orange. Then there are those who go orange yellow.
@jessicarumsey6828
@jessicarumsey6828 4 жыл бұрын
A level “11” would be a pale yellow and 10sb with 5vol would cover. If you still see brass (orange) ((level 7/8)) or you still see yellow (level 9/10) you did not lift enough to use 10sb :)
