Great video. A very minor point, most Nikon's have a built in intervalometer / remote timer in the menus so you don't really need to purchase an external one - more savings! :-)

You are correct John, the intervalometer built into Nikons and some Canons will work up to 30 seconds in most cases, anything in Bulb mode will require a separate intervalometer however.

Lightroom only allows for horizontal compositions. You could crop the sides to "make" it look vertical in the slideshow options on the right panel, but the video will still remain horizontal. There is no way (that I'm aware of) to export a vertical video

Thank you Scott !! any chance for another FPS ( higher) templates for Lightroom ? above 29FPS ? thank you
@DenimSuitPhoto4 жыл бұрын
That really wouldnt work. Lightroom ONLY exports videos at 30fps. So the templates are kind of a hack. If you use the 24fps template and export it, the ACTUAL framerate should still be 30fps, as thats all Lightroom is allowed to do. For a more comprehensive suite of options, you should try Photoshop. kzbin.info/www/bejne/o3bbdaOOiZZ2d5o

Hey Scott, I am late to this video so maybe LR CC Classic is different, but I get an error message: the presets are "the wrong type of preset." Here is a copy of one of your presets I am trying to import: 23.97fps Timelapse.lrtemplate
@DenimSuitPhoto6 жыл бұрын
Dont use the 23.97 preset, I think I already may have deleted it from the package. Just use 24 instead. Remember that this doesnt actually apply to the framerate being exported by LR. LR will ONLY export your movie at 30fps.

Hello Scott, very interesting guide on building a timelapse video from scratch. After downloading the templates as instructed I gave it a try on a set of 275 DNG files captured by my Mini 3 Pro. LR is taking an extremely long time to process the preview taking about 15 mins per slide!! Should I convert the raw files into JPG first? I selected all, then switch over to the Slideshow module, applied the 20.97FPS template and hit the preview button. By the time I decided to drop a line here its done only 3 slides. Its going to be a long, long wait just for the preview to be ready. I'm using the latest version of LR Classic on a M1 Mac Mini. Any thoughts?

Yup. You have the right idea. Export as jpeg, reimport and try again.
@roberthigaki22823 жыл бұрын

Unfortunately if you want to use Lightroom to compile and export your timelapse, you cannot. Lightroom only exports timelapses in 1080p. So you would need Photoshop or Premiere to work with the whole pictures you took for the timelapse. Lightroom just automatically downsizes the images to 1080p.
