Wonderful, helpful video on Siril and processing! Regarding your final image, pre-lightroom/photoshop; is it normal to keep the back ground grey rather than dark black for that contrast pop. It may be my computer screen, but it displays darker blacks than present in the background of your final image. It seemed deliberate on your part, so I was wondering if that is some sort of convention or something. I'm very new to processing and AP so I'm the unschooled heathen, for sure. I was simply wondering about the back ground and the level of darkness. But, really great video! Definitely bookmarked. Look forward to watching your other videos.

I still have the 5/6 of the flashes I bought originally. I bought them in 2014 so they're all nearly 10 years old now. They have last quite a long time with proper care. But back then people didnt know, so they just assumed these cheap flashes would break and youd have to buy new ones. But you wont. Take proper care of them and they'll last a long while. I still use them today for smaller jobs.

Hi! Sorry, I'm a newbie in Photoshop: at minute 50:10, you copied the selection in a new layer with CTRL+J.Ok.But the new layer didn't maintain the selection. You said "ops" and then the selection came up again. How did you do that?

I wasnt supposed to copy the selection onto a new layer with CTRL+J. I hit CTRL+Z to undo and go backwards one step

Great video!! I used to export all the images to premiere pro > use script to snap 1 frame per image in sequence and then export for my timelapses earlier.. Now this makes the entire process so efficient. Also, thanks for the free preset!! Time to follow Scott's YT :) PS: Iceland timelapse looks great

how do you get a white background on tablet or laptop
@DenimSuitPhoto
@DenimSuitPhoto 11 ай бұрын
Great question. You can open the notes app on any IOS device, google "white backround" and download a photo to open your devices default photo viewer, or make large 2x3ish white jpeg in photoshop or paint and sav it for later use.

Flat frames - no T shirt when you use a tablet?
@DenimSuitPhoto
@DenimSuitPhoto 11 ай бұрын
I have found that at that distance, a t-shirt is negligible is diffusing the light in any way, and, the tablet screen is out of focus enough at that distance to not need to use any diffusion material

Great video Scott One question that never seem to get addressed, when taking Flats with a dedicated astronomy camera what should I set the exposure to?
@DenimSuitPhoto
@DenimSuitPhoto Жыл бұрын
I was told to always use aperture priority. I let the camera decide what the exposure should be but generally speaking it should be exposed in the middle if you're looking at a histogram
@arthurkaye8999
@arthurkaye8999 Жыл бұрын
@@DenimSuitPhoto thanks for that. I have been experimenting in taking flat frames with a home made light panel. Like you suggested, by looking at the histogram i am finding what works best. Around 1-2 second exposures.

My night lapse videos look awful due to street lights, flares and other ?lens aberrations. This basically ruined one I took of the aurora which doesn't always visit South Dakota. With your method, I can at least clean up some of the blobs with the healing tool which you can't do in the old but ok GoPro Studio. Luckily while the GoPro shot in town, I was using a full frame outside of town. Got some respectable shots. Thanks for your video and the downloads.
