Hi, thank you for the video. Trying to follow along but stuck on aligning and locking the void to the reference lines. Can you advise on why I wouldn't be seeing the reference lines I create when in the "Floor Plan Ref. View"? In the "Placement Side" View, I extended them past the wall edges but that only revealed the horizontal line, not the two vertical ones.
@BIMforInteriorDesign3 ай бұрын
Hi, I am not sure how to fix that. Try temporarily hiding other objects which might obfuscate reference lines.

Hi Tom, awesome family, thankyou! I've put this in the back of a wall view i have made. Is there any way to make the niche in the back of the wall automatically show as hidden lines, without using lineworks? its meant for structural drawings..
@BIMforInteriorDesign2 жыл бұрын
I am not sure what you mean by "back of wall view". Is this an elevation view of the wall, where the niche is on the other side of the wall
@TehCervickz2 жыл бұрын
@@BIMforInteriorDesign Yes, exactly, sorry for the confusion.😅 Any way to make the outlines of the niche automatically show as hidden lines?
@BIMforInteriorDesign2 жыл бұрын
@@TehCervickz Well, if you want the niche be visible from the back side, you use model lines to create this. In family editor, you can draw model lines (using dashed lines) on a reference plane, which is locked to the back side of the wall. These dashed lines are than visible in the project on the back side of the wall. The problem with this solution is that these dashed lines are visible in all views, including 3D views. That's because they are model lines.

Thank you, I created the cabinet. I might produce a tutorial on creation of this cabinet in the future.

Hi! Which command did you use to switch your placement side of the dimension end? you do it in 4:46
@BIMforInteriorDesign3 жыл бұрын
You have to hover your mouse over the reference plane and hit TAB key. When several objects are one over another on your screen, you can cycle between them with the TAB key.

When I place the niche it is either in the wall or barely cuts into the wall. see image. not sure what I did wrong. And, I cannot select it to move it. I cannot add a screen shot...

I followed all instructions , niche is visible in 3d but not in floor plan,What do i do ?
@BIMforInteriorDesign3 ай бұрын
The niche might be higher or lower than the cutting plane of your view. Try adjusting the height of the niche.
