Is there a way to loop the simulation when it is placed in a scene that takes place on a beach? Or would you need to animate the waves depending on how long the scene is?
@teknomancer9939Ай бұрын
just stumbled upon your channel while entering a very new and challenging role that will greatly benefit from your bifrost tuturials on liquid (and gas) simulations. I look forward to viewing your website! Do you by chance offer one on one tutorials or tutoring? Cheers!

Great video! By pure accident I was playing around with waves and the bifrost. By conveying a little bit of my own experience maybe I will speed up someone's day. You can turn off under spatial delete exceeding particles and enable. Transport step adaptivity can be turned up if particles are misbehaving near colliders. Under emission particle distribution surface particle density to 1. Try to model the water and the beach in bifrost scale units, one grid is one meter. Proper scale gives proper results. Shape of the seafloor is very important for waves and how they behave so model it like the real thing. For actual waves look into combining animated waves on a Mash with Bifrost motion field and inherit the velocity under geometry tab. If your resulting Mash is shimmering and doesn't look precise play around with bifrost liquid shape render tab. Even without bifrost meshing you will see the water and here you can change how it will be rendered. You can get better results by changing from surface voxels to surface particles then even turning on meshing. If you do decide to use bifrist meshing hide the liquid shape in the outliner so Maya doesn't render two things.

Hi, thanks a lot for the great explenation. Despite that I have a powerful machine, Bifrost simulation seems to be very slow even with the default low settings in Maya 2022 comparing with the older versions. Please advise

Thank you so much for your tutorials you are great! One question I tried to render bifrost effects thru GPU and did not work. Does it mean if I use Bifrost render with other scenes I need to render everything with CPU? I have a good GPU and I really did not want to use CPU and wait for ages :( Any suggestion, please?
