Great video Dom, many thanks. Some more retrologue information would be great. I'm interested in how to create the floating, deep Bass sounds that artists like Arianna Grande use. They just seem so warm & full, without having any distinctive 'sound'. Hope this makes sense!

Retrologue is my favorite I got with my 10.5 Pro upgrade. This one on its own made it worth the upgrade price. But then there was also Padshop and Halion which are also amazing. GrooveAgent I use all the time for setting up a beat. The others like Mystic, Prologue, and Spector I haven't used much yet.

Upgraded to Cubase Elements 11 last week and Sampler Track 2 blows out the competition! Love the other new features and some new functions to Elements that have been passed down from Pro and Artist... Looking forward to this video! Thanks in advance Dom!

Hi Dom. I hope I can still get your attention. My question is totally off topic, but I'm hoping you can advise. A few weeks ago I had a client who wanted me to check their production before sending me the stems to mix, so they sent me a bounced stereo mix. When listening, I picked up that the singer was singing 6 intervals higher than the key. So the melody was correct but it was sung in the "wrong" key. I use quotes on the word "wrong" because I soon learned that it is common to have songs like this. So I tried doing some more research on the topic online but couldn't find anything that was specific. Do you have any recommendations for how/where I can find out more about this (assuming you understand what I'm talking about. I hope it's not gibberish).
@DomSigalas4 жыл бұрын
Wow that’s interesting. Really hard to tell without listening to it- is the singer at least in key? :)
@mgmthegrand4 жыл бұрын
@@DomSigalas Yes, she is in key (correct melody) but on a scale 6 semitones higher. To make things easier for my client (and for me, LOL!), I just told him to transpose the music by 6 semitones. Worked out fine. But I think It's one of those weird things in music that works in some situations but not in others so I really want to understand the theory behind it. Anyway, thanks for replying. If what I said above makes any more sense, let me know if you have something I can refer to for clarity.

Rob Duff from Australia. Can we merge project templates in Cubase or even better can we load more than one VST template at a time into a project in Cubase. Or both ideally. Imagine when you download your new VST library you get a full template for your DAW with it and you can add it to an existing template or load it into a project. This would really help with workflow. Has the revolution begun or is this the future?
@Strafuzz4 жыл бұрын
Just open template make your edits then save as new template

I'm having a Retrologue problem, can you help..? I've got this happy sounding thing in B major with a root note bass line from Retrologue (that I decided to use after watching this video). The problem is when my 6 minor chord comes around (G# minor), the one note Retrologue bassline is giving me C harmonics, which obviously isn't a note in the key, and it's making it sound out of tune beside my happy B major melody. Can this be stopped..? Can I have it generate G# minor harmonics instead of G# major ones..? Thanks.
