I am making one as well, the jaig eyes are honestly the hardest part.
@skyguycustoms3 жыл бұрын
Awesome! Yes, the jaig eyes are really difficult, especially getting them symmetrical. Pretty sure that time lapse part is on like 6 times speed since it took me so long lol.

@SkyGuyCustoms A" Creality ENDER 3" Is enough if i want to print a phase 2 clone mask? The specs are: 220mm×220mm×250mm.

You’ll need to slice it into pieces for smaller machines like that, but it’s entirely still doable!

Hi. Thanks for the tutorial. Have you tried using 0.3 layer height and Changing your nozzle to .6? I printed mine at 100%. Took 1day 14 hours. Layer height alone helps with less hours. Thanks again great paint job!
@skyguycustoms3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I’ve thought about experimenting with those settings but wasn’t sure about the resulting quality. Did .3 layer height result in a rough print that needed lots more sanding or was it alright?
@sandragon27143 жыл бұрын
Not really. You need to sand anyways. Like you said, an electric sander helps. Oh, and no support is needed in the cheeks.
@sandragon27143 жыл бұрын
The back took 19 hours and dome was 1 day 2 hours
@skyguycustoms3 жыл бұрын
@@sandragon2714 ya I was just trying to show what an extra cautions slice would look like. I usually print with a lot less supports.

Does gluing the rangefinder on with hot glue sturdy enough? Most people usually use a mechanical hold for theirs to keep it from breaking off.
@skyguycustoms11 ай бұрын
This is a case of using the resources at your disposal. At the time, for me, hot glue was the most accessible tool, and it got the job done. Upgrading to a mechanical stock will certainly improve the longevity of your build, but it’s not inherently better for someone just starting out.

Nice job on the Helmet, im in the process of slicing my rex and noticed what you said on the sizing, that said im having issues with front to back but im going to try maybe a small slice of the narrowest part to get me % right now im at 108% , what file did you use for this? i got mine from chris the prop guy..
@skyguycustoms11 ай бұрын
This was made with galactic armory files. Printing a cross section like you mentioned is a great method for testing the size
@Muds33 Жыл бұрын
Any chance you still have that cricut file for the jaig eyes? I’m about to paint one up myself and wanted to ask if you had it because it would help a bunch! Thank you so much
@skyguycustoms Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately it doesn’t look like it saved over the year :/ however I just used a jpg image off of google and had Cricut auto trace it. Shouldn’t be too hard to replicate hopefully. I hope your build is going well!

I printed at 200C extruder and 60C bed, but those settings are for PLA. check the website of the brand of filament you're using and they should have info for ABS

Is this wit PETG or PLA? if its PLA would the same process work on PETG?
@skyguycustoms3 жыл бұрын
I’ve stuck with Hatchbox 1.75mm PLA. Not having used PETG before I can’t say it’ll be exactly the same, but I’m fairly certain that following these steps should yield good results.
