Rather than building one tactic for everything I have a positive and cautious variation of it. I switch over depending on how the game is going in the match engine. As far as the formation and role, I build it based on the players I have. This way it is balanced to the team. Start with as few team instructions as you need the add or subtract depending on what you see.

I love this! This is very similar to my approach. With Atletico, I so much enjoyed the 3-4-1-2 that I forgot about the 4-3-3 until I needed to experiment with counter attacks. Great approach to the game @travelingwestmusic5259

@DarkHorseFM2023 if you check the stats on their passing at 30mins and 60mins you can see their passing lanes by highest number of passes and hard tack or close them down etc. Also worth checking your own players and player who are passing badly set them to short passing and or take fewer risks. At half time I usually check crossing and set my wingers or wing backs to take fewer crosses if they are not crossing well.

Great stuff, would this work with a 442? I've always wanted to create a Ranieri Leicester style team but I always get thumped.

I don’t know if it would. What Leicester City did was insane. Trying to replicate that on Football Manager would be epic.

What is the AAFC at the start I managed the spartans but never faced a team with AAFC (maybe airdrie but they are in Championship), looking forward for the rest of the video :)

i dont think run at defence is good for counter attack tactics. it forces your team to play more expressively.

It depends in the situation. Against an opposition that’s not very good at marking, run at defense helps. But there are situations where I’ve had to take it off and just allow direct passes between players. It’s all down to match situations for me.
