Good afternoon, I need help, I'm trying to make a swirl or also known as marbeling, I've made great advances, I'm a luthier I would like to paint my guitars by immersion in water, I'll report my advances to simplify 1-) water density: I have already achieved a good density with the following products: CMC, carrageenan and emulsifier (nestle) 2: Paints: I managed to make the paints float and make drawings under these solutions already listed in the previous item, I have already used the following paints, food dyes, water-based paints, acrylic paints and special paints from the pebeo brand made for marbling 3-) I can transfer my drawings perfectly to plain paper or potassium sulfate treated paper, 4-) I need to make this happen on guitars that I have to apply a sealant base, I was told to use the white spray from the brand rust oleum ultracover 2x, I apply it on the wood, however unfortunately, every time I do the immersion in any of the paints the drawings are destroyed and run down the body of the guitar, they just don't stick. Please, I need to know which product to apply under the wood after I have applied the rust oleum base so that the designs remain on the guitar.

I wanna know, What type of fabric which can make this?
@johnrichings98407 жыл бұрын
Hi. What is floating powder. Cant seem to find it under that name.
@steamgadget7 жыл бұрын
Carageenan is the powder used to make the water thick enough for holding the paint on the surface. Just look up carageenan, it is a natural food aditive based on seaweed, I think. This is what I remember my instructor telling me.

@@steamgadget can we use any acrylic fabric colour?
@steamgadget5 жыл бұрын
@@chilkakanika1456 No, unfortunately not all paints would be behave the same way with these techniques. There are certain acrylic paints that will do this well. "Marabu" is a company that makes some interesting paints for fabrics that I have not tried, but I know of them. I have used marabu marbling paints and I must say they are fun to use but nothing compared to old world marbling.. Some waterbased acrylic dye inks will work well with fabrics if set correctly by pre treating the fabric.

You can use nail polish in water, EXACTLY the same cheaper the polish the better the design!!
@Tadi3a5 жыл бұрын
I have tried nail polish and it just sinks and clumps together. It also peels off the paper. What am I doing wrong?

This woman is really annoying and she keeps interrupting him. She thinks pipettes are magic, and elastic bands are a really good idea, wtf. I'd rather watch with the sound off, but I want to know the details.

I think it was flirtation on her part. Very cute. As you know, the camera picks up EVERY insecurity and emotion, even when you try to hide it.

The guy is immune to flirtatious hahaha I met him in person and talked to him got the whole lot the kit with extra paints for about 100 euro. He let me do my own designs in my fav colours.interesting how his personality is different on screen he was a bit rough in person not that smiling and gentle..but nice overall

It is originated in Persia, India, Turkey...

Japan first, I'm afraid. It didn't come to Turkey (or nearby) until I think the 15th century? Ebru is a younger art than Suminagashi, but they're both lovely and both quite old.

Still have no idea what the powder is?? Alum crystals! Ok.
@steamgadget7 жыл бұрын
the floating powder is carageenan, I believe. That is what is used in traditional marbling, as far as I remember my instructor telling me.
