What I love is both blasters have that "lived in" look. Both have a sense of history and tell a story. One could easily see either blaster in a sci-fi movie or TV series. Both Anthony and Clint have shown us how the possibilities are endless with the only limitations being one's imagination. Very inspiring indeed, gentlemen! :)

That's got a serious Flash Gordon 1980 vibe! You hit it with the metallic gold and I could hear the soundtrack's guitar riff going off somewhere in the distance. Very cool build.

What a perfect description! YES! Anthony's blaster totally gives off 'Flash Gordon' (1980) vibes (or 'Mars Attacks!' or 'Killer Klowns from Outer Space' or 50's sci-fi vibes). Yes, the Queen and Howard Blake soundtrack for 'Flash Gordon' is playing in my head. :)

We need a sequence showing Anthony and Clint armed with their custom blasters standing back to back for a duel and then marching ten paces from each other before firing. That would have been fun to see. Haha! All the best, fellas, and thanks for inspiring us with your incredible DIY sci-fi blaster builds. :)

Wow! Both blasters look amazing with Anthony's blaster looking right at home in 'Mars Attacks!' or 'Killer Klowns from Outer Space' with its wonderfully retro, comedic appearance while Clint's blaster would suit the worlds of 'The Chronicles of Riddick' or 'Firefly' or any 'Star Wars' movie with its makeshift "lived in" characteristics. Well done, gentlemen, and I'm glad both of you survived your duel and left the field of battle with honour. :)

I think Clint's is more retro Buck Rogers/Flash Gordon and yours is definitely more cartoony. A fabulous interpretation of The Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator as used by Marvin the Martian, or it's a Nuka Cola blaster from Fallout, It's great ether way as ever and I salute you sir 👍

Have you ever thought about either buying a toy makers lathe, or following one of the tutorials for one of the drill powered ones? when you were talking about wanting to use the handle wires from the spider as a sort of an art deco hand guard I thought that that would have been the perfect tool to cut down soap dispenser by the half inch or however much it was too long by.

I like them both, but like you the stock adds something. BUT they both could fit in the same retro universe- yours to me isn't as cartoony as you think, at least to me. While I was watching I had a couple ideas of how to do challenges (though the temu list idea is cool) there's a "Big Bot Battle" challenge going on in the tabletop minitures youtube community hosted by Bill of "Bill Making Stuff" what he did is drew up a D&D style character D-20 chart where there were 20 adjective based variable for each attribute (Heads, arms, weapons, legs etc as well as one represent "Flavor" - like Shney sci-fi, retro future, post apoc) and each participant rolled a 20 sided die for each, then did a video building their bot based on what they rolled as well as coming up with a narrative... You could do that for blasters, ships, really anything. The other idea I had was you could set a rule like- you have to use an object or part of an object from each of these aisle- Dollar stores are all pretty much generic at least in how they organize stuff... so it could be something like 1 object from each of these aisles party supplies, toys, autmotive/hardware, electronic accessories, office supplies, kitchen/household and food/beverage (probably packaging) This was a fun video.. Good job as usual

So as far as the Aztecing stuff goes since it is hard to find might I suggest finding the pattern for it and cutting it out of vinyl with a cricut machine? That would probably work great and you can get vinyl from the dollar tree also. Such a great source for so many things.
