THis might work well for a mad scientist tool belt! thanks!

WHen they were working on Star Trek TOS they needed "sci fi" salt and pepper shakers for the mess hall. The prop people found some that looked "sci fi". However they decided they looked better as medical sensors for Dr. McKoy. Guess what they used for salt and pepper shakers? The kind you can still find in most restaurants, the ubiquituis white and grey plastic shakers.

"It's a tool belt." The solution to the problem is always simple when you know the answer 😆 It is great seeing the process.

Loved your discovery of a toolbelt being ideal for your world’s toolbelt. I remember seeing a sci fi movie/TV show where these Blacksmiths (are we still allowed to call them that?) from like Viking times met some future Blacksmiths (I can't recall if the ancient smithies went into a future smithing shop, or vise versa, suffice to say they met up in one or the other's workshop); Instantly, even though vocally they didn't grasp what each was trying to convey, each party nodded at the forging tools, the tongs, the hammers, the anvils, a smithy shop is a smithy shop, is a smithy shop, and they were all working together on a project, demonstrating their techniques to each other. Some things change little! Have Fun, Carlos.

Paste wax is amazing and would have worked so much better than the oil. Look into it. It can be used on a multitude of things and can be polished.

Great lesson there - basic humanoid ergonomics aren't going to change much in the next few centuries - all that'll happen is that they'll adapt to new environments, therefore... yeah, stick to deigns that already work for humans... just tweak little identifiers here and there - but overall, another great and highly entertaining video - and having seen the trailer, I can't wait to see the finished film! Keep up the great work... after all - we all need a little help to make sci-fi ...👍

I like the white tool belt better. More of a futuristic look. Maybe silver accents with purple swiggles. . oooh yeah. Lets do it...

The logo and little tools and gizmos... That kicks so much ass dude. I can't wait to look at all the cool little details in your movie. Also I think the grungy spacer look rules. Whatever looks good to you is gunna look cool to us. You seem like you're having a blast and living the dream. Rock on propmaster

I think the little R2D2 looking thing is for finding nails or screws in walls...cool belt. A tool belt is one of those things that probably doesn't change much over the decades or centuries...

Cool stuffi should have added some more, but my wife enjoys watching your stuff. We talk about of how, just little items. Just throwing together. The ship in the opening of your short movie. Is a kitbash or just CGI??? But anyway keep up the good works.

If you had sanded the leather with superfine grit the dye would have required far less coats and adhered better. Looked great though.

Fun video. Its the simple builds I love, they add so much in the long run. Question, please: Not sure what you meant by "No budget for pristine white". Now I'm curious, can you elaborate, please?
@westcoastgio6328 Жыл бұрын
educated guess, but I am betting that pristine white is a complete expensive PITA to keep pristine for continuity purposes, every smudge and fingerprint stands out like a beacon... the time and effort to keep it pristine gets expensive on set.

*i'm constantly on the look out for discarded items that can be disassembled and reassembled into something totally unique, otherworldly or strange...a hybrid of streampunk/dieselpunk, and medieval influences with a smattering of futuristic bits leaping out here and there from behind the holographic shrubbery...what's important to me is that an item looks well used and functional even it you have no idea of the thing is...i'm all about the visual and tactile sensibility of an object...the person using is doesn't look at it and say "wow...that's cool...they already know what it is and how it works*

@createscifi2 жыл бұрын
hahha agree :)And I do. The time on props is how I get people to subscribe to my channel to watch my stories. Trust me I spend way more time on story and production than props but its the prop builds that "build" the channel for story to live.
