I would do the type on the oval on the baseline because of how the type rotates on the curves from the center of the type instead of baseline. This will never look right unless you adjust the spacing of each letter at different amounts. That's a ton of extra work. If done on baseline the spacing will be even all the way around instead of progressively tight on the corners or curves. Doing circles on the center setting is fine because the type remains evenly spaced. Rounded rectangles not so much.
