Excellent video. After having gone through the "poke and prod" method of learning how to do these things over the past several months so that I could modify STLs and create my own 3d print items that better suited my needs, I can wholeheartedly get behind having a nexus of videos that go through the bulk of the learning curve. Awesome work. For new(er) Blender STL/3d print enthusiasts, your channel is a true tome of super useful knowledge. Good on you, sir. Good on you.

Thanks so much. I thought this was an interesting format/idea so if it proves interesting I may look at some more about what you can do with 3D printable files.

Not affiliated with the creator of these models, but I was highly skeptical of them not needing supports especially with the small pipes on some of the models. I just got done printing one myself and I was shocked that it came out clean with no supports needed! I used a regular Ender 3 FDM printer. Just make sure you use the settings listed on the site for the models. I hope this encourages people to not only try these models BUT design cool new stuff for them! This video is a winner like always.

I was totally the same. I actually wouldn't make the video with them in until I'd printed out a load of their stuff just to check it and they are really legit. Very impressive considering the detail.

Great! It's interesting to see printed result sliding in that doorway.

@Yamanoochi I will be trying to do that a bit more. It just means having a greater lead time on videos which isn't always possible.

I love how your door support looks like the W of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation's logo from Aliens. Just a happy little accident. 😆

@Will_Forge completely coincidence 😏

Would you ever consider having either a youtube video, or a dedicated patreon reward, going through your entire modelling process for something like a Marine, or really any mid-sized project?

Some "sci fi power armour" videos are coming. They are just taking longer than I expected as some things in Blender changed so I had to redo a lot of the audio

Good video. I have a question: Don't need union all pieces with Union Boolean, Remesh or CTRL + J? Generally I union the all pieces with remesh, but I don't have 3D Printer for print my models. Sometimes I make low poly assets and use remesh to union all pieces, but the low poly model isn't low poly anymore. Can I just select all pieces and export like in your video and print the model? Thank you.
@ArtisansofVaul2 ай бұрын
@xmaruffles7535 Yeah, a printed model can have ngons and that's fine. But if recommend everything being booleaned together as mine is. You don't need to apply it for the export.
@xmaruffles75352 ай бұрын
@@ArtisansofVaul I hadn't seen you used CTRL + Plus to Union all the meshes. I saw the final part again and saw you using Union Boolean. Thank you for response.
