Too many negative comments here. I appreciate that the speaker had the courage to share his insights and allowed his to vid to be posted here, to trigger critical discussions. I understand the point of the speaker, just go to the streets and listen to the conversations, and take note of the trajectory of topics, and the manner by which arguments are conveyed and received. If we're indeed in a scientific culture, are arguments are well-reasoned and differences in opinions are taken objectively and well-respected.

I believe everyone else here was just obligated to watch this video for STS. And I do hope, that to whoever watched this video and stumbled upon this comment, you learned something even though you just needed to comply for STS. As the speaker said, "We must always go beyond the first impression". Even though you feel that STS is a difficult subject, I hope that after this you find appreciation in the essence of STS. Good luck with your summaries and insights, you can do it!!!

This was more on about ISIP rather than more on the context and culture of Philippines in regards to science IMO.

haha i had a good laugh with this one actually. Integrate the culture of science into the Philippines? hahaha. We already have our own culture of science-- deep within our culture- lost! Why?? Because almost all of our knowledge in science came from the western pretext! We dont need to integrate the culture of science! We only need to revive it!

hahahahahahaha.... Duuudee. I watched this in my own accord to criticize it, since I'm researching ethnoscience. The science that he meant that everyone in the Philippines almost hate is not necessarily the culture of science that Filipinos need. Think about it. Almost all the science we know came from the western world. What about our own science? Oh how long have we forsaken it! And this dude right here- the speaker, is uttering the most flabbergasting nonsense that I've ever heard! For I'm sure the only science he knows came from the western pretexts!
