How did you clean the silver liner once you sanded it?

Is that silver soft ?

This is sterling silver which is pretty soft. Soldering it into a band for the liner annealed it into it's softest state. That is why it rolls over the edge of the steel so nicely. The silver is somewhat hardened as it is forced over the edge.

why not first making the liner and than the damascus saves you alot of math
