That’s an awesome Bunjin Terri. Could you do a tutorial on a Casuarina equisetifolia how to make pads?
@TerryErasmusbonsai2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Bule! Actually I have not much experience with that species. We have a strain of it here but it has not the best genetics, so I have not really bothered with them. When I was in Taiwan I saw them using them a lot, perhaps you can find some educational material from there?

Very well made video, so when dealing with hard embedded wiring. In my tool kit I use split ring pliers they have a hook end beak on one side that alows me to get even the hardest to reach wire out without tearing the bark off. Just thought this might make your job a slight bit easier.
@TerryErasmusbonsai3 жыл бұрын
Interesting! I know the tool you refer to but tell me, are you telling me you just pull the wire and it unwinds, below the bark and pulls out?

What a fine explanation and demonstration. Thank you! Also, does wiring of itself help to initiate back budding or ramification?
@TerryErasmusbonsai3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. Wiring won’t do that no, however very indirectly perhaps if by arranging branches they get more even light exposure and this grow healthier and thus lead to adventitious bud formation.

Hey Bonsai Tree! Watched your video today of the trident maple pot up. Love your content and been watching since I started out! Wish my trident was half the size of yours. Thanks for watching. You guys should watch his channel too!

Hi Terry, I have watched this video now more than once! 😅 I have a similar Juniper, twin trunk style. What Juniper is this again? Also not a fan of the stringy foliage, but the trunks of my tree is too beautiful to get rid of it. 😁
@TerryErasmusbonsai2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Hugo. Actually I am not sure what type of juniper this is. Enjoy your tree though, and work with the foliage in terms of your design, appreciating the fact that you will not get a crisp foliage pad outline etc.

Terry Hi there, a quick question; In the above film you talk about the growing season, does that refer to the '3 months' in a growing season eg. spring - summer or does it refer to 1 full growing year/seaon?
@TerryErasmusbonsai3 жыл бұрын
I guess this will depend on where you are but essentially it excludes winter mainly as this is when the tree is dormant. However some areas might experience shorter growing seasons to others due to their temperatures.

What a pity, the wire was completely imbedded! Good job! Thx for sharing!!!
@TerryErasmusbonsai3 жыл бұрын
I think with time it might not be that visible or as I mentioned, I can create Shari of it if the callousing results in the branches being too thick. Thanks for the comment, compliment and for watching!

Those junipers grow really fast, the owner needs to be more atent to the wire bite
@TerryErasmusbonsai3 жыл бұрын
Yes. This is true but he is a very busy business owner and I am sure he just missed the wire, the tree was in all other respects very well looked after.
