the white wax makes the piece looks as if it came from an old english garden, like statuary aging for long long time🥀🌻

I am always so amazed warching your videos and seeing your magical use of paint and brush to create such breathtaking effects. Tihis is a lovely finish with the white wax that softens the paint and gives a romantic feeling. I would not have imagined the outcome of using a dash of red in the glaze but your vision and intuitiveness is always spot on. Your videos offer me so much inspiration and good feelings, I can not thank you enough, as they bring me such joy and relief. Your work is always outstanding and I marvel each time how 17:26 your artful eye creates such amazing beauty. I can't stop watching so please keep these in production for all of us to enjoy and learn from.

Beautiful as always Jonathon! I love the white wax too, I just did a beautiful old chair using a combination of the scandinavian pink, primer red and a bit of China red mixed to make a "berry" red. Then white wax, I love it! and the client did also! Also looks great over the napoleonic blue!!

Great effect- love it. -will try this technique - I too couldn't hear, but resolved it by using haedphones. The panelled wall behind looks great- how did you do that? Did you make the wall or was it existing and how did you paint it?

A wonderful video and a technique I definitely want to try. I'm trying to understand the use of Burgundy in the paint mix-how did you come to choose this color rather than a blue or a purple or an orange? Does it have to do with red being on the opposite side of the color wheel of green?

He white waxed the detailing, I have an ivory piece similar to this but want the raised details and creases to be blue with the remaining flat surfaces ivory, How to do? I can't find and detailing on You tube which is a color, all of my backgrounds ivory how to make blue pop out and maintain the ivory?
@cherylberry16132 жыл бұрын
I noticed you left the wax in the crevices of the details quite heavy. It is ok to do that?
@JonathonMarcMendesPaintedLove2 жыл бұрын
Yes it will harden the wax over time full curing time is usually about 21 days but it does dry literally within a couple 😊
@gayleenfrye90277 жыл бұрын
Love the video. Question on waxing, Do you not buff the wax? And the wax left thicker will harden?
@JonathonMarcMendesPaintedLove5 жыл бұрын
Depends on the effect you want. I do sometimes buff and try not apply too much.
@nylanelson86602 жыл бұрын
The two colors you put together were ugly & I thought you must be mad to use them but in the end they dried to be colors that blended. You definitely have an very creative Artist eye & good at putting the right colors together. The piece looks very aged & antique & I love what appears to be bits of gold on it or is it the original color underneath that can through with wet destressing?
@pelicanseaweed58184 жыл бұрын
1st time that I saw wet distressing - very interesting and thanks. A couple of questions that I hope you will answer - could you have used coco as your 2nd paint rather than mixing up the three other colours? And would the effect have been different if you used white wax over clear wax?
@ratanashifu3 жыл бұрын

Sorry about that - as I;ve said before this was very early days. All my tutorials in my Painted Love Academy are filmed by pro videographers and I wear a mic so it's a lot more like a TV show and the reviews are very excellent. e.g. "I know you hear this loads but I just love the way you teach - you are just to practical and logical and passionate and as a result I just totally ‘get it’" Thanks for your feedback, will see if I can tweak these old ones somehow.
