For my house, how I like my bedroom is a mix of home office and entertainment paired with a minimal clean aesthetic. But im also fortunate to have alot of space to work with. Even though I'm probably not winning an awards from any interior designer, I certainly love it. The only thing i would change is to paint the walls a nice dark colors, but then i have to move the bed, desk, TV, and dresser which is why i havent ever decided to do that.

Very good ideas! The one idea I have thought about is maroon & forest green (deeper) one color for accent and 3 for the remaining. Ex: (1) wall maroon and (3) dark forest green. Then to top all that off maybe do a wainscoting using beat up pallet wood. Just a thought. Not sure how to treat the ceiling or what color to stain the wood.

I see the direction you're describing! This sound like something you would have to play around with given that both of the colors have a strong presence when placed in a room. We just recently completed a living room where the customer wanted red and green as primary colors included in the design.... I'll have to post a video of how we worked it.

Watched this video again & it made more questions than answers! 😂😂😂 Many years ago, I made headboard and two side tables for my bdrm. I stained the wood in a medium brown tone (can't remember what I used, maybe Minwax Maple). The other item is that the center of the headboard is removable so I can change it as my taste changes. One of my thoughts was to go with this design concept. Especially with the pants encorparated into my "masculine" design thoughts. So, I am wondering if the room was to be painted dark grey, flat black, flat/matte/semi-gloss dark royal blue type color & the trim a couple of tones lighter, could I keep the that stain color and keep my med tan down comforter then go from there? Rock on Chaudry!

Excellent video. However, every time I try to find inspiration for a masculine interior I mostly find dark rooms. But most places I lived in did not have enough light for such dark interiors. Can a light-colored room be masculine?

This is a great question and it absolutely can. If the palette (walls and floors) of your space are a light color, you can begin incorporating darker furniture and decor. Using rougher, raw elements in nature will also help this look (think raw wood or leather). The next video I'm making does lean toward the dark side, however it will have some great tips that I think you can utilize.

I would ask myself "How would a child approach a coastal room?" Their minds operate without restriction or fear of judgement. Sometimes the ideas we had as children were correct and as adults we only have to find how to make the design more mature. I would be looking to old pirate memorabilia and room photographs for inspiration 💪

I’m a dude. I would balance the light white coastal feel with warm wood antique pieces with leather accent pieces. I would probably add one off white piece of furniture to make it feel coastal. Incorporate touches of blue in vintage books and focus on boat and fishing oil paintings with antique frames. Pull from old school fisherman and subtly incorporate that with some modern features.
