This Unreal 5.2 video is about Creating a Minimap, which is done by creating a Render Target Texture, adding a Scene Capture Component to Render to it, and a Widget to show it on screen. Following that, we use the Hidden and Show Scene Capture Flags in a few ways to determine what is visible on the Minimap.

The content in your videos is great but I feel you are missing out on most of the possible traffic from YT because: Thumbnails are what most people who are served your content are initially attracted to, keep a consistent layout but switch out the black background for a picture of the "final outcome" which you might want to photoshop slightly to better illustrate what's going on that would be lost in a screenshot of the print string output. Large amount of people click off in the first 10 seconds so you need to try and hook people straight away, showing a quick 10-15 second example right at the start of what the "final outcome" will be so people will be like "yeah I want to know how to make that" and continue to watch. (Can re-use these intro examples or slightly longer versions as "YT Shorts" too) Some of the video tiles are quite long / have too much (technical) information in them, maybe make them more concise and move some of that extra information into the Description so its still used for searches. Talking about searches you should add some more details to your Descriptions and look at adding Tags so people searching for more generic phrases like "Unreal Engine, UE4, UE5, GAS, Gameplay Ability System, Blueprint" etc will be served your content. Longer videos like yours can benefit with some low background music so long as it doesn't overpower your voice (levels and instruments) but also isn't too repetitive to do the opposite and put people to sleep. See if you can reduce the mouse and keyboard click noises coming through your mic by changing its position, using shields or gates or filtering it out in post. If your referencing something you have another video on add a pop-up card link to it.

When the player is close to the edge, the minimap shows just a black screen with the text 'your scene contains a skydome mesh but it does not cover that part', how can i remove this blackness and the text and rather make it more like a png so that nothing shows instead of the black. Hope you can help, thank you

For information i am making a racing game where the minimap only should show the spline (track), therefore any landscape and other meshes is set to hide in scene capture. Now the spline shows but over a black screen, i want the black to be completely removed so that the track is like a png image

Thanks for watching. I'm not sure how you would resolve that skybox issue precisely, but if you want more control over the minimap as a texture, you might want to consider another way of creating the minimap, which I have outlined in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHXdiI2Bbql9rrc

Thanks for watching... I'm not entirely clear on what part you're referring to. We're setting up a Render Texture Material, using a Scene Capture component to write to it, and displaying it in a widget.

@@AlamarsDevDomain Sorry, maybe I didn't explain it well. What I mean't is I'm struggling to figure out how to add an image to display within the minimap instead of using a live view of the area. I created a map within Photoshop and now I want to use that image as the map and have the player icon move around as if it was live view. Really difficult to find this specific tutorial because all guides show me how to create a live view minimap but what I want is the minimap and my own image map in it. Many Thanks!

I haven't done that myself yet, but instead of showing the render target for the world, you want the zoomed in texture you provide, with an adjusted position based on the player position. @@AlamarsDevDomain I started over and followed his tutorial and word-for-word it doesn't work. I got everything in place but no view of the mini map when ingame.
