tbh, a lot of devs out here are good with the logics when using Godot, one of our biggest issues lies with making UI in Godot, thank you for this and please make more of this

i like to make UI with a rather small length around 240px - 480px on both sides (often i begin with 360×360px and change the X-length and Y-length later). maybe you should do this too, to avoid having to input way too large numbers to get everything to be a good size.

I was searching to see if anyone already said this. Also, another tip, when referencing nodes in script (specially UI nodes that can change in the hierarchy many times) it's better to use unique names (Right-click on the node > Access as Unique Name)

I really liked that "live" format to follow along (while doing some actual work for my client). It's kinda relaxing even. And it shows perfectly fine that running into errors (like the copy'n'paste errors towards the end) aren't something to be afraid of, especially for beginners. Fixing them is just a matter of "what did I just do and what could cause the unwanted behavior?". No need to panicking or something. I guess, that's something beginners should see more often to keep calm. I also liked the blockout approach for implementing the UI design. As always it's a matter of preference to either go "bottom up" (create components first and arrange them later in the big scene) or "top down" (block out the whole scene as you did and refine each component later on). In terms of building a UI, though, I never really thought of going "top down", because I am a web developer and in my business you usually go "bottom up" in frontend development due to stuff like atomic design, for instance. I personally am a backend developer (doing server side stuff) for a living and pretty much always go "top down" for building web APIs and so forth. But for what I know and see, "bottom up" in frontend development became very common over the last years (at least that's the case for web dev). However, it's nice to see someone doing it the other way around. Keep up. 😘👍 Best regards from your very first Discord member. 😄

Nice video. This is a good video just to see how things work. It's not that complicated it seems. Don't be surprised if I spam your discord with help for the game jam.
