Kelly, your so talented and personable in all your tutorials! It gives me the inspiration to keep working on blending my colors...and not quitting! And needless to say, you're right when you say to take a step back whenever you get frustrated, and then come back to it! Because for me, giving the color time to rest into the paper actually does help in the learning process...and I find that I didn't do too bad, and encourages me to keep at it! Thanks for all your great tips and techniques, because now they're showing up on my card making and I'm very happy with my progress...one card video at a time! Namaste

Lovely card! I’ll have to try that technique although I don’t have a lot of dies. As far as creating just for myself, I hardly ever do that. Nor do I buy cute stamps, etc. where I don’t think I have anyone to give a card to with that image. I’ll have to work on getting passed that.
@melindamorgan17366 жыл бұрын
Awesome video. Where do you get these awesome ideas?
@Panda8ngel6 жыл бұрын
This card is stunning! I love the technique. :D Question: what would be different in the shading if you wanted to pop up the blob areas instead of inset them back?
@KellyTaylorCards6 жыл бұрын
The shading I added on the outside pops them up. If you want the shading to make them look inset add it over the actual distress ink. Maybe I'll do a video because that doesn't sound like enough of an explanation hahaha
@Panda8ngel6 жыл бұрын
Kelly Latevola thanks for the explanation. A visual would be helpful but if you don't have time, don't worry about it. 😊 I've learned so much from you about cards and life. Thank you!
@PapercraftsbyCindyellen4 жыл бұрын
I do this all the time (make my own stencils). May I suggest either acetate packaging (like from berries or scissors) or just 1 mil cardboard? A little stronger and easier to manage. Cool card!! I missed story time. . .
@danacarlisle22156 жыл бұрын
Hi! Absolutely love the card but have a question, why did your stencil dies not cut out the same way that your die cuts did? Was there 2 different dies? Thank you!

@tinapike20666 жыл бұрын
Gorgeous!! Kelly you had mentioned that you had thought about shading them as they were inset. Sorry if this is a silly question and maybe I should know the answer. How do you shade inset vs popping up? I hope that my questions are not driving you batty, I have absolutely no art classes to draw any kind of knowledge from. Thank you for always being so nice and answering me. Have a great day!
@KellyTaylorCards6 жыл бұрын
Your questions are wonderful! I want to help :) The shading I added on the outside pops them up. If you want the shading to make them look inset add it over the actual distress ink. Your the second person to ask so I may do a video on it.
@tinapike20666 жыл бұрын
A video on that would be awesome! Thanks so much!! Have a great day. :-)

Love your cards and love listening to your creative process during your videos!! In one of your older videos, you said people ask about your nails a lot and you do them yourself. They look fabulous, btw, but I was wondering, what products do you use to get them to grow and strenghen? Mine will grow, but always end up breaking. Thanks!!
@KellyTaylorCards6 жыл бұрын
Kim Hector Keep polish on them. Mine do break sometimes, more often they peel but the polish will help. I use Orly Bonder as my basecoat. Any polish I want, cheap or expensive, and the Glisten & Glow top coat. The top coat you can only buy online but it's worth it.

I love the sentiment of this card because this is why I create. I don’t have a lot of people to send cards to and making cards isn’t all I do. I don’t have an Etsy store or anything like that either (at least not now, that could change sometime in the distant future when I feel that what I make is worth selling 🙂), but just the process of being creative is reason enough for me to keep spending my weekends in my craft room, and my weeknights watching inspiring videos like this on KZbin. Thank you Kelly and I hope you feel better. You sound like you have the sniffles.
