Today we build a realistic detailed prison complex, complete with cell blocks, work places and rehabilitation facilities in the form of gardens and greenhouses.

Welcome to Auridon! This is a 'lightly’ modded Cities Skylines gameplay series, although I do use a ton of mods the series will use mostly Vanilla (+DLC) building assets with only a handful of extras from the workshop. The focus of this build is on making a detailed city, with functional mass transit, including all DLC and content creator packs. 2022 ready! The series is based on game play mixed in with detailing timelapse's.

I didn't see any prisoners in side it is it functioning as a prison or just lovely decoration around the real prison? If so why doesn't skylines make a proper prison that we can build like campus dlc and have prison breaks if requirements aren't met etc.

As some one who works at a prison, this is pretty close. As far as security goes, you want as minimal as possible, points of escape, and the guard towers need to be completely separate from the inmate population. Overall pretty sweet build.

I'm so glad I stumbled across your channel a few months ago, you're easily my favourite CS builder because you consistently go that extra mile to make things realistically detailed. Seeing the reveal at the end of the detail timelapse is always like a 'woah' moment. Its been awesome watching Auridon grow and I'm hoping we'll be seeing it continue for a while yet! I also misread the episode title as making an *a e s t h e t i c* prison and it took me about a third of the episode before I realised you weren't gonna show a pinterest board or tumblr post haha

Even making a prison you do a wonderful job. One thing I would do is make it totally self-contained, meaning letting it have its own power and water source. That it is for many prisons in America. For a pretty much straight forward build, still your touch makes it a simple one. Thank You!

Impressive build. You might want to have the outside road go all the way around the prison, so the guards have an easier perimeter check.

Auridon Fun Fact of the Day: Auridons first prison was the old decomissioned ship-of-the-line 'HMS Pinesylvania'. It was used till it sunk in the harbour of Auridon in 1932. It housed as 'prominent' prisoners as Jim-Bob 'The mad Trapper' Furlock, who was sentenced to 30 years in 1827 for stealing 1500 pieces of racoon fur and rolling a beer barrel through the garden of the Lieutenant Governor, or Shamus Jonathan Williams, who was sentenced to 9 months in 1895 for insulting Queen Victoria by spiting on the wrong side of a stamp.

Additional not so fun Auridon fact: Fortunately the Shamus line of the Williams family died out in 1963 after refusing all kinds of vaccinations for decades. In doing so the last one, Shamus Barnabas Williams jun., did become recognized by medical history for the till today only known case of catching tetanus while beeing in an iron lung.

Great, great build as usual FewC ! Just a thought, and of course, I appreciate that Auridon is your brainchild and vision. So, just as a suggestion: I personally imagine Auridon to be in a fictional Scandinavian-esque part of the world. Prisons there are a lot more focused on rehabilitation rather than punishment. So what I think would be great, is to have some education facilities (collage and uni?), more exercise facilities (like a leisure centre?) and some basic entertainment facilities on the prison grounds too? I like the idea that some inmates can learn to be contributing members of society with the things you've put in already, such as farming and gardening etc. So this is really just some food for thought if you like it 😊.

What a wonderful build! You wouldn't think a prison complex would be beautiful but here we are! Such an inspiring build, I went into my city last night and started my own prison complex! Need more assets because your little rehabilitation area is just so cute, I need that too!! Kween of Props, how we love you so! Before us l the airport, can we get an update on nodes and props? Looks good, since you are a detailer, I'd like to suggest a few additions you could consider. 1. have individual fenced in blocks for solitary prisoners to work out. 2. Add a warehouse for food/ supply delivery. 3. If i remember right, there are a few police "bus" vehicles you could get for a roaming guard around the perimeter. (you'd need a path also) I'll have to add some farm assets to my builds.

Great build FewC!! The entire complex and especially those gardens turned out fantastic! Definitely need a film crew in there somewhere though, Auriwood wouldn't miss out on such an aesthetic prison 🤩😁

Now, if I ever have to go to a prison I'd wish I could pick this one 🙈. All the detailing - even just the roughed-up concrete - brings these buildings together so nicely. When you mentioned the cryopreservatory I was reminded of the cryo-prison in Demolition Man, so even inside the complex would've been fine for this asset if you ask me 🙂

This is really great! Everything you touch in CS turns into gold. Who would've thought that a prison build could be this interesting? I have a teeny tiny suggestion for added safety - how about a drawbridge? I saw someone use such functional asset, I think it was two dollars twenty.

You need to turn off trucks going in through the main gate and only using the 2 side gates. A bus to the main gate for the families who don't drive and a mini bus around the inside of the prison to get from the main gate to each cell block for visitations. Other wise this is the best prison anyone has built yet. :)

Wow just wow few c yet again you put the bar higher and higher for our expectations also just a suggestion to put a police helicopter depot on the peninsula of the prison island so if a prisoner happens to escape then they can send a police helicopter out to search for them. I find a good prison build is always difficult, as egg would say can get ugly real quick if your not careful lol not over done and looks great plus that rehabilitation garden was a great outside the box idea, might try and copy this one 🤫 Keep up the great episodes

That's a really nice self contained prison build, maybe it could use some small dock so prisoners could be moved there over water? If you ever plan on making another prison build I would love to see you tackle a more "Nordic styled low security" prison, one with lots of green areas and smaller buildings. I think that would fit your style really well, finding the balance between a "secure prison" and a "nice lush green livable space for people". Haven't been commenting much lately but still watching every episode and always waiting for the next one! This episode made me also wonder what place might be named after me at some point... (yes I am a patreon supporter, I bet you can never guess which one :D) Awesome stuff as always and congrats for hitting 10k! Next up, 100k subs!

I don't know why skylines never created a whole dlc on crime. This is what is lacking from cim city. They had the citizens rioting and seeing them burning buildings not to mention all the other crimes looting flashing mugging you name it we could see it along with the criminal being taken away instead of the same 2 crappy policemen coming out in skylines with no criminal in hands but saying loaded. I mean at least they tried with the death funerals with dragging out a coffin but no evidence of criminals being grabbed by police wtf. And yes why haven't they created jail breaks if certain vitals aren't met???They should also create a welfare system for the unemployed some sort of pension and a dole and rioting it they cut it or don't provide it etc. I'm sure if skylines reads this some of them may thing oh of course wtf did we never think of this omg genius and make millions of dollars from my idea. Thats ok as long as i can play it. Maybe they will put it in skylines 2 to compete with newer city building games including the Russian one which has a huge expansive land space to build on.
