when i derive the Outline sketch it doesnt pull in the holes as they arent visible in the outline

I had the same issue / question. I wasn't able to find the answer on what the issue was or whether I was doing something wrong. Let me know if you found an answer or workaround.

@@ForceTronics they removed the feature from fusion360 you now add them to the PCB within electronics
@ChrisMasto Жыл бұрын
@@Robbrown92 Can you explain what you mean by "add them to the PCB within electronics"? The holes have been added in electronics, what is happening here is that they don't appear in the sketch created by electronics.

Is the Insert -> Derive truly necessary for this? Would it not work to create a new file, insert the 3D PCB, then reference its shape to model the enclosure? I may be missing something, but, it seemed a bit silly to me to derive the outline of the PCB like that when you could just directly reference it.

If only it were this simple when DFM with clearances, draft angles, etc. Not a big deal for a simple enclosure like this, but convoluted when introducing more complex & organic geometry. This is the one thing I wish Fusion had a better toolset for (similar to NX with surface normal tools, etc). Still, great stuff!!
@schm47044 жыл бұрын
Indeed, "clearances" is the first thing I thought when I saw this.
@SamBirchenough4 жыл бұрын
@@schm4704 easy enough with this to add an offset & taper angle before shelling. If you have more complex organic geometry that needs to have a split driven from a no undercut constraint, a draft cut normal to the surface surrounding the split & blended with the existing surface, then shelled with uniform wall thickness for injection molding, its a different story. Even just having a toolset in sculpt where a draft at the eventual split can be maintained on both halves (without symmetry) would be allow for a more efficient workflow than current solutions (workarounds).

After you shell your first body... how tight is the fit for the PCB that has to slide into the enclosure?
@adskFusion4 жыл бұрын
Hi, this is Edwin. it is my understanding the enclosure adapts according to the board shape. Therefore the original distance is preserved.

Can you use the 3d virtual enclosure object to print it in a persona 3d printer? That'd be crazy!

how to proceed when we have multi pcb project please ?
@adskFusion4 жыл бұрын
Hi, You will need to create an Electronic Project document (schematic & PCB) for each board you expect to use in your project. It is possible to insert multiple 3DPCB into a Fusion 360 design.

This tutorial isn't working for me. The enclosure doesn't start until 7:20, then the presenter blazes through the 3d modeling tasks with insufficient explanation of HOW. I had to continuously replay sections to see where his mouse was clicking -- and I gave up. Not a good tutorial at all IMO. However, it seems to be the best procedure on youtube - other tutorials break the association with the board

please do the reverse one form fusion to pcb.
@adskFusion4 жыл бұрын
Hi Shaber, this is Edwin, do you mean if the enclosure changes have the PCB outline automatically update? For now this is won't be possible because Matt is using an Insert Derive that allows the PCB to lead the enclosure. In our currently workflow, the modification to the outline can be performed in the 3D PCB or 2D PCB, in which will update any linked designs. I am quite certain that in the near future this will be possible. Your participation is appreciated.
@mdshaberurrahman4 жыл бұрын
@@adskFusion so if i change anything in enclosure that might make the pcb not fit in there, that won't be updated? if so that means i have make the 3d pcb from the updated changes then remove the link from the old pcb and add to new one!! so much work. but old way with eagle it was possible. This feature is very important.

You should "go ahead and" make sure you go ahead and do more videos that show your ability to stop saying "go ahead and". You should know that that word combination could be completely removed from any sentence without any change to the meaning or grammar of the sentences. The phrase literally has no purpose.

I like how you complain about someone else's word choice and then afterwards you use the word "literally" incorrectly.
