Creating an IfcSlab in BlenderBIM is SO EASY!

So far, it's been a breeze! Changing the width, length and thickness of the slab is a bit more difficult, so expect a detailed explanation next time.

to change profile: select the slab and press `TAB` to enter in edit mode, select line or vertices to adjust the horizontal profile and when ready press `TAB` again to change thickness: go to "Geometry and Materials" from the "Scene" menu > Materials > IfcMaterialLayerUsage (pencil to edit the layer set, pencil again to edit the LayerThickness) , Save changes for both layer and layer set IFCArchitect has some nice videos here on YT, a bit old but still useful I think ..are you the same koara on OSArch by any chance?

@@StefanoVerugi Thanks for sharing this. That was also my discovery, and I'll record just that. I guess changing the thickness is a bit more confusing since you do that in the material tab.

@@StefanoVerugi Got it, thanks, I was confusing changing the dimensions in edit mode and setting the thickness differently. It looks like I will be free from having to transform the cube in Blender and then assign it to IfcSlab. I am the same person as OSArch.

@@koara5867 great! feel free to ask on the platforms, both BIMvoice and OSArch, I know how difficult is BBIM at the beginning and will do my best to help you (or others) out. I am far from being an expert BIM/IFC modeler but I think I got the essential tricks to move on Cheers PS as much as possible try to use the "primitive" geometries like slab, beam , column, etc and adapt them to your need instead of using a cube or mesh and convert it to an IFC element..
