Please understand that, adding minion to canvas will (decrease the utilization and increase the production of canvas). since it produce faster, it causes congestion down the line. Minion should be placed in 100% utilised canvas, so that it have more capacity to produce thus increase production. Even though it decreases the utilisation less than 100% which means the canvas are producing efficiently. So summary: -100% utilisation means it can not take in more input, which causes congestion UP the line if it has more input than the canvas can take -less than 100% utilisation means it is producing efficiently but can take in more input -increasing production by speeding up 100% utilised canvas, may cause congestion DOWN the line if the following canvas do not have enough production speed/already at 100% utilisation

Or in short: In this scenario (bottom row production), the archer production needed to be buffed (and the cut circles, but sifd noticed this eventually). The normal soldier producers were stuck, because the line to the archer production was already clogged fully, so they were not able to put more out until the line in front of them has a free space. Edit: Okay sifd realized it, too.

So around the 30 minute mark where you were dealing with the congestion (i haven't watched past 32 yet so not sure if you'll figure it out), but.. the congestion is based of the conveyor line being full; they can't produce at 100% because the output lines aren't available. The answer would've actually been speeding up the archer creation spots to the left; would increase the amount of heroes used, thus clear out the line. Edit: you did figure it out around 34m haha

At minute 30 he didn’t have enough cut circles so speeding up archer creation would’ve been pointless

Well was about to comment about this but saw there and just put this reply... At least he figured it out (haven't hit the point yet either :p) but I tend to play some amount of factory game and trying to maximise the input/output is a thing I do a lot (and tend to overthink it and make oversized factories that end up lagging the game and will try to not make oversized factories in the future plays but waiting for update to get back to it...)

For ink engine: The output of a single producer is enough for more than 1 ink-engine. I used it for at least 2 or 3 engine. You can also combine all the lines with normal pipes so when you unlock efficiency extra with research to get better management or output. Also try to get all the big motif maker slot used first and then go for the small one. I think the small one are good for cut/upgrade shape, and the big one are for base unit production.

This game looks great and i love your content! As someone who has played a lot of Factorio i'm somehow able to ignore lot's of the glaring mistakes, but PLEASE: 1) From what i have seen, congestion will never happen because of joiners in the demo - it's always production > consumption (the cutter is stupid though, it cuts a shape into two, sends the first half and then waits an eternity before sending the second, not doing anything and the full shape just congesting upstream) 2) I think the pipe-bro is able to supply multiple engines, based on your hover-overs on the various pieces (eg you can have maybe 9 canvases supplied from a single ink deposit) 3) But most importantly: you don't save units, they are produced RT during fight, so you don't have to slow down speed early, because the only important factor is how fast you are producing at the beginning of fight. Pre-generating units is there only for the exp, getting the idea of production speed and for the upgrade breakpoints

Hello sifd , just here to tell you that a single ink harvester can supply at least 3 engines easily, you also don't need to individualize your ink pipes, you can build a giant pipe network, much like "metro lines " sprawling the entire map , all flowing back to the ink source. Just think about your house for example, every single water outlet is connected to your pipes and go all the way to the main water source right? All pipes are interconnected. Only build more ink harvesters when you hover a pipe and it says something like 0,5/ 6.0 (its almost empty).

You can click on the little map with the feather on the right bottom during combat to continue building your factory, if your minions can fight the battle well enough on their own 😀

Today I achieved something extremely broken and stupid with the Blade of the Chosen and the Copy machines: it's possible to make duped Heroes loop back into the Copy machines, and with clever use of Splitters and Joiners, I essentially created an infinite duper that grew more and more in productivity until it reached a point where the system was congested and reached an insurmountable limit. I had a constant stream of Champions at the end and obliterated the boss.

Dude is being drowned in produce and he is like "clearly the problem is we produce too little". Opportunity cost clearly means they cannot unload cause the conveyor is full.

Increasing normal unit production is gonna solve nothing if the problem is the archer production because is so slow. You should increase production speed on those canvas that actually are 100%, because that means that are actually working at full efficiency, so there is not supply shortage (and more probably a supply abundance). Anyway, you do a good job :)

You have production % backwards in your mind. 100% is bad not good. it means its bottlenecked and can't produce because they are going at full capacity and not keeping up.

how does the big canvas with 3 inputs actually work? can you do stuff like pipe half circles, circles, and triangles into the thing and make straight up archers without having the step in between of making the normies and combining them with half circles afterwards?

Correct , you can go straight for "classed" units, when the game releases we will want to eventually stop using basic dudes mid run.

It's not implemented yet, but I suppose it will be mandatory for some units or parts that require combining three different components (some are visible in the incomplete tech tree)

I think the archers are kinda underwhelming. For some reason having a huge army of pawns is worth more than getting archers. The game play idea is awesome, but I think overall the game seems to need some balancing.
