I think that the nail art is more a form of personal expression, which definitely falls into art for art's sake. It's empowering for the wearer to have those messages displayed on their bodies. As for leaving reality out of art, it's impossible. Art has always been shaped and influenced by reality, and that includes politics.

Not really. Activism is actually taking action to solve the issue. i.e going to protests, volunteering, charity work, etc. Just because I wear a save the animals shirt doesn't make me an activist.

Actually wearing a "save the animals" shirt does count as activism. But I believe that would count as Micro-Activism as you are a walking billboard for that campaign. Some of what was shown in this video such as the rapping Muslim women would count as activism, but something such as painting of the nails can be put both into micro-activism and slacktivism(make yourself feel good for expressing yourself). Expressing what you care about is mostly skacktivism in my book though.

What I meant was that I really enjoy the journalistic (and fun) approach this channel has taken in the past to share stories, even though CNN indeed has a history of political bias.
