These are the kinds of detailed, but easy to apply tips that can help other practitioners step up their refinement game, especially the simple approach to pad pruning for density. Straight to the point with clear explanations, and I was just about to start pruning work on my junipers...👍 Love your contributions on bonsainut as well. Keep sharing knowledge and footage of your awesome trees, sir! Your YT channel easily deserves 6 digit subs and beyond. I noticed the mesh around the nebari of those trees, great idea to keep the substrate in place while watering or transporting. I'll be copying this technique! cheers!

Thank you for these great tips. Very impressive how you put these videos together over an extended period of time at different stages and edit the content into a seem less discussion. It really helps in understanding what is happening.

Glad you like them! I do at times struggle when editing starts, as I do not have the right bridging clips. That is what you see me swap clothes a lot in videos :)

I comment when something resonates with me. I like most of the bonsai videos I watch. But generally common when something stands out and resonates

Great information as usual Jelle. I have a pacific blue juniper I’ve let run for two years and this spring it’s time to get down to business. I’ll be using these techniques. Thanks, keep growing

Half way into the video I kept thinking "oh boy, that tree will never look right with that foliage'". I have been struggling with a few junies just like that, but this year I will just go ahead and graft kishu on them. It is pretty much the only way, and I see you went the same way in the end :)

I have just added a Grey Owl juniper to my collection. Very sparse but there’s something about it I really like. It will never form compact pads but that’s just the way it is.

@@GrowingBonsai Poor tree I have not had time to look at it as busy preparing for an important interview. Once that's don I'm going to sit down with it, rewatch what you are doing and see what can be done. Suspect it needs to do some growing first of all!

Just don’t get enough direct intense sunlight for my junipers. Although they seem healthy they seldom extend very much each year. 😢 I do find that those cutting root very easily though 👍
@GrowingBonsai8 ай бұрын
Do you fertilize and water enough? Or what is not much extention for you?
@TheBonsaiGarden8 ай бұрын
@@GrowingBonsaiI think mine just don’t get enough direct sunlight for long enough each day. Extension is literally half a centimetre, maybe a centimetre, if I’m lucky over the growing season and they get plenty of water and feed. My garden is great for maples, not so much junipers.
