Watch it again... All sounds nice but it would also be better if you mention that the new sellers and first product launchers are never eligible for any of these except the coupons. Including the regular sale discounts not mentioned here. If you are a new seller with the first product the discounted price shows as the price with no comparison to the list price, as in the shown samples. Very frustrating.

Can you please check if you can see the "Manage Claim Codes" when you go to your Promotion? You need to click this and create the codes to generate them.

You can run a coupon code promotion even if you are selling on another seller's listing

You can choose manual approval on your promotion codes to ensure you can only give them out to your selected shoppers. 😉-RS

Sure! Just to clarify, you need to generate the codes in Seller Central. When creating a promotion in Jungle Scout, just make sure to select manual approval on Step 6! 😉

Good video but it seems it is not possible for a new seller to show on the listing that you are actually giving a discount. It only shows the sale price. Or am I missing something? I am a subscriber to JS. Is there anything there in regards to that to help me to show the list price and the sale price together?

Are you referring to the listing itself? Because I believe that it will show the original price vs the discounted one.

@@junglescout Yes it was only showing the discounted price, and when I asked I got several answers from not eligible to wait a while and see what happens. Then I removed the sale and used a coupon with the same level of discount against the full price. Although I really wanted to have the crossed out list price and the sale price.

You won't pay Amazon anything extra; the customer receives a percentage discount.

What exactly are coupons supposed to help with? Conversion or traffic? Also, how does one measure the success of the coupon promotion?

They should help with both, and ideally, you'd want to see a greater conversion rate. Amazon will tell you what sales are attributed to discounts versus regular sales.

@@junglescout Thanks for a response. I did some tests in the past, and I never noticed a conversion increase. Hard to say about traffic. Now last week I got a somewhat higher traffic, but a drop in conversion. Hard to say if I can attribute any of that to the coupon, so I'm curious. Now, I am doing an analyis of our coupon data. The trouble is that I have no way to know if those coupon sales would have otherwise happened, or if those people who used the coupon only proceeded to checkout becuase of the coupon.

That's right, Milos, you can't tell the intention of the customer. However, when you look at your sales with and without coupons, you should see an increase, which means a positive effect. If it's neutral or has no real effect, then it seems your product sells regardless of a coupon. It could be the discount may not be large enough. You could try increasing the discount.

I want to make a "percentage off" promotion where I offer just one customer a 40% discount code for use on JUST 1 UNIT of one particular asin. The trouble is that all of the "money-off" promotions apply to the customer's TOTAL BASKET, rather than just 1 unit of a specific item....So if they were to add 1000 units of that asin into their basket, the 40% off would apply to all 100 units in their basket. I know I can set the max order quantity to "1" in the "edit listing" tab, but I don't want to do that because some customers like to order larger quantities at full price and I dont want to restrict that from happening. Do you know of any other ways to achieve this?

I believe there isn't a way to limit the discount offered to just some of the items purchased. Usually, the higher the number of orders a customer makes, they are expecting to get more or at least the same discount. 🤔 ^EG

Hi Stephen, depending on the type of coupon, there could be a percentage or dollar value off. If you are running PPC, you'll want to check in on the campaign and you'll see a report on the bids and click-through rates as well as the totally you were charged!

Hi there! Amazon has a few discount options one of them is by one for X off, buy 2 for xx off, buy 3 for xxx off. That's the one you want since customers will see that offer and can decide if they'd like to purchase more than one :)

I'm still confused by your statement round a 1 min and 50s. "while you are not necessarily paying the dollar that you are discounting your product by...it still factors into the budget." So am I paying amazon that dollar amount or not? I guess I just need to understand this in relation to profit margin on a per item basis Let say I'm selling a $100 product and I want to use a coupon discount it at 40% off. Let's say that Cost of Goods sold was $15 including shipping into the amazon warehouse And Let's say it's a product category where amazon keeps 15% referral fee. If the cost of redemption is $0.60 and amount discounted is $40. Does my profit margin look like this? $100 Product sold -$15 referral fee -$15 Cost of Good Sold (including shipping in the FBA warehouse -$0.60 -$40 discount to the customer ----------------------- $29.40 OR like this? : $100 Product sold -$15 referral fee -$15 Cost of Good Sold (including shipping in the FBA warehouse -$0.60 -$40 fee paid to amazon -$40 discount to the customer ----------------------- -$10.60 !? And does this mean that a steep discount is hurting my profit margin?

If you are offering a discount, it will always hurt your profit margin (as you are lowering the price of your product). And no, you won't pay a discount fee of $40 to Amazon (in your second scenario). The first scenario is correct, and this is how you should calculate your profit.
