My heart dropped when little kitty went in that hole 😂. Glad she came out on her own. And I feel ya on the tradesman. We called what felt like 30 plumbers to try and get our bathroom sink swapped over and all of them said they only did full bathroom, even those that said no job too small on their website 😩. So with help from KZbin we did it ourselves.

Try setting up Christmas lunch at the beach, on a picnic "blanket", kids wrapped in a towel, half drenched after coming out of the ocean via the sand from the beach that the other half of their bodies are covered in and trying not to get said sand all over your Christmas lunch table....plates....food....etc!!! It’s so fun to see how Irish houses are built. I am from Austria and it’s so different. Also getting a builder for a small task would be next to impossible here !!!. My mom wanted to get new floor and new wall panels for the bedroom. She had to wait for over a year and ask many many times. The carpenter didn’t want to do it because it was such a small job. But in the end he didn’t want to say no. He would prefer to do a whole house, a big proper job.

When I moved in to my house - there was a cut out in the downstairs ceiling - one of my cats actually jumped up around 6 feet into the small opening and lived his best life between floors for four days!! Movers, plumbers, cable installers - all of us tried to get him down - he finally jumped down like no big deal…I was the owner of a ceiling cat!! ❤❤❤🐈

I had a leak in me of my bedrooms but it only seemed to happen in the spring and summer when it rained. We finally figured out it was based on the direction the rain fell which is different in the different seasons…. You know the whole earth spinning thing. Took 5 years to figures it out.

I enjoy your adventures. You inspire me. I was going to suggest with your dahlias this is what I've done with some in front of a basement window that's how I can tell if anybody's been mucking around my house because they fall over so easily is that I have learned to lean something over the stocks and I leave them sticking a little bit out of the ground but they are hollow and the water will go down into the m and rot them. You can keep them warm with leaves or some bark. Also in the Pacific Northwest in Oregon suggest to bury them a little deeper like below your usual freeze line if not too overly deep.

My granny had storage upstairs like that. There were small like cabinet doors on each end, on both sides of the upstairs. It was so magical but kinda creepy to crawl through there as kids lol. When she passed away my family sold her house and I sat in those tunnels for days sorting through so much cool stuff. Sorry for the memory dump lol but I’m excited to see this!!!

Love your channel Catherine, although the gardening makes me green with envy - the closest I can get to gardening outside over the winter is shovelling snow from the path! I just had a suggestion for donations craft supplies etc. I work in a shelter for women and children fleeing domestic violence, and these types of things are so appreciated. I’m not sure if you have such a place near you ( I am in 🇨🇦) A lot of times these women haven’t had the opportunity to do anything like that and they enjoy it so much.

I’ve got that exact same space! Mine just had mdf sat on top of it and one day I crawled along it to get something at the end and the mdf gave way 😳 got a big gash in my shin! These days I just use it for the Xmas tree and decorations 😊

Yes, the waste pipe needs to stay in the spot its in. We also converted our loft and the waste pipe is exactly in the same position as yours. If you look carefully you will notice it ever so slightly is on a dlope towards the outside. We have lots of storage on the other side of it; we just have to awkwardly climb over it to get to our stuff. Ours isnt as fancy as though, we have it boarded with osb and nirhing else. You can even see daylight along the eaves; great for ventilation but it is draughty.
