I'd like to utilize this space, usually reserved for comments, to make a personal observation. For those guitarists, like myself, not headed for a recording contract yet compelled to improve our musicianship; we are faced with a unique learning opportunity. This chance, to approach closely, the lifetime accomplishments of Dr. Harris are given here freely through this mentorship. Not only are harmonic / melodic ideas suitable for all instruments explained clearly but they are also visually crafted toward our own. The ability to learn these concepts, from the source, will eventually become unavailable. Musical and improvisational methods, certifiable through a lifetime of devotion by a master musician are too important to let pass and I, for one, am happy to support Chris in this endeavor. Student, patron: DH

This is awesome. You've got me practicing Rhythm changes again, which I really need. I love how the drop 2 sounds as an arpeggio

glad you talked about this cos ive been doing them on the upright bass and they sound beautiful, especially bowed. been especially into how any -6diminished scale, or maj6thdim as 7th chords sounds this way

Thanks for the knowledge. I would love to see a video where you lay out a practice regimen for a relative beginner, someone who knows the theory but not how to practice it effectively

@@jensguldager5603 I’m not sure how much of a help I could be either, but right now what I am working on is getting all of the fret positions of a given scale ( major and minor sixth diminished) with and without the flat six under my fingers. I have been using the up down pattern but will be learning more patterns as well. That has been a good start for me I’m also working on triads and arpeggios up the scale, and eventually working on playing through 2 - 5 - 1

What's the tritone minor? I've never heard of that lol
@azirusS
@azirusS 2 жыл бұрын
I think triton's minor is the important V minor chord of the triton's substitution of a dominant chord. Example C7 = F#7= C#-6 or-7 :-) not sure...
