That was beautiful! Letting go was the difficult part I find most hard to do, but it's a practice 😂

Thanks so much for watching. Yes…it’s *so* difficult to let go of beautiful pieces 😭 but I console myself by knowing that it’s still a part of the whole. Happy creating!

Thank you for sharing the layers of a painting in a journal. It has been very helpful to me. I’m new to art/junk journaling and painting so this is all so informative. I love your colors. Covering up is the hardest part, but I love how you look at it. It is still there underneath. That surely makes it a lot easier. Also, if you don’t mind me asking, on your figures you put in your journals how do you decide if you are going to put an abstract face or real (not sure that is the right word) face? I never thought I would try figures, but you are inspiring me to do so. Thank you so much for sharing.

I'm not very confident in painting figures either but I like Soraya's so much I'm planning to try something like hers very soon. I really like her style a lot.

Hi Patricia…I’m so glad you want to try out figures…it doesn’t have to be intimidating at all! For this particular spread…I really loved the color blue that was her face so if I make it abstract, I don’t have to give her a flesh color…that’s how I decided. I’m going to make a few beginner art journal videos…is there anything in particular you would like to learn about?

@@lisamorice4701 I can see why. I like her style as well.

@@sorayanulliah Thank you so much, Soraya! That makes a lot of sense. I’m enjoying your videos on layers. All your videos are informative. I cannot think of anything right now. Thank you for asking.

@@lisamorice4701Hi Lisa…thanks so much 🤗 I completely understand that figures can be intimidating…but they don’t have to be! I’m working on a video where I simplify the process! Happy creating and I’m so glad you’re here🥰

This video was very helpful, although I kept making different choices in my head about what I would leave or cover up. Your colours are lovely. I use a black Stabilo All pencil but I've asked my local store to order in some blue ones because I love anything blue and the way you sketch with it. In this piece I keep seeing a woman (left) and her shadow (right) so the sun is on the wrong side 😂😂

Hi Lisa…yes, the middle layers involve so many decisions (what to leave, what to cover up etc) and it’s all so personal & intuitive. I think it’s awesome that you were following along and would make different decisions…you’re strengthening your style🤗 Haha…I put the sun there because I wanted to keep that bit of blue pattern😅

PS the Stabilo blue is gorgeous to use!

I followed along to one of the painting beginning layers videos and thought this one would show you how to take it from there to the middle layers, but this is different. This one is lovely--but help, I need a rescue! 😂
@sorayanulliahАй бұрын
Hi there! Thanks for watching my videos… This layout begins aprox 1-2 layers in so it’s middle layers. Can you tell me more specifically the issue that you’re having? Do you not like your first layers? Are you having trouble deciding what to keep & what to cover up? If you let me know more details, I will try my best to guide you. It’s totally normal to need a rescue…it means juicy stuff is happening 😊😅

@@sorayanulliah Where did you go from here? I think I'm going to make something up--but I'd love to know how you went through the process and onto the middle layers from here. Maybe a later video? 😊❤️ kzbin.info/www/bejne/baKwiqKVl6h2hLssi=fHpjnBJz4_paDl8l

@@buckybarnes1544 oh! I made a series on First Layers on various surfaces because different substrates require different approaches. I *didnt* do a second layer to that particular video. I can do a series going through each layer from first to middle to conclusion. Haven’t got around to it yet. Would that be helpful?
@sorayanulliahАй бұрын
@@buckybarnes1544 PS I got a few requests for first layers because I think lots of folks are intimidated of the white page and don’t know how to start

Hi, love your videos but what more products can I use for covering up??
@sorayanulliahАй бұрын
Hi there! You can use collage if you want more coverage without using acrylic paints. And it doesn’t have to be fancy either…dictionary pages, an atlas, brown paper bags, cheap lined composition notebook with your handwriting, thrifted children’s books have gorgeous art (non glossy!!) gift wrap, junk mail…I also use chalk paint for strong coverage. Hope this helps? Thanks for being here and welcome to my channel 😊
