Hello everyone ❤️ I hope you enjoy just this little project I’ve been up to, a lot more work to do for sure! I know reading isn’t everyone’s interest but I hope if this isn’t yours you can share one that is 🥰 so many lovely hobbies out there that are so rewarding. Sending much love and let me know what types of videos you’d like to see in the future!

This is lovely, Paola. I loved the 'Beauty and the Beast library. Love old libraries and smell of old books. My oldest son is an avid reader. I loved reading to my boys when they were all little, most especially children's books. I don't read much, except church things or baby books to my two grands.

I am very curious... what kind of "unusual" paint brush you use?!?!?!?! Seems to be "less messy" than a traditional "roller" or "brush"... please inform us!🙏✨ Painting is also a work that needs time, patience and focus to make a good job! 😍

At age 73 I still have an affinity for magic, fairies and books. I write poetry and stories, many of them for my grandchildren. After 40 some years as Registered nurses, my wife and I are retired and are creating our secret garden. Pleased to find someone like minded. May I recommend Gone Away Lake and Return to Gone Away by Elizabeth Enright. First read them as a child in the 50's. They take me to a place and people I cherish. Will certainly look into your new book. All the best.

I was a bookseller, it was my working profession. You can imagine I had thousands of books. When I moved some years ago I gave three quarters of them away. Now there are only a few hundred left. It was very hard for me, because I can easily let go things except books. But it was necessary, because there was simply no place for them anymore and they started to overwhelm me. It was a long process, and I still miss some of them, but their stories stay in my heart...

I've lost many of my beloved books over the years, since I was always somewhat poor and struggled financially and moved around a lot without any help, so I could only take what was absolutely necessary. I know how it feels to give up the books you love so much. Fortunately, the internet allows us to find our favorite old books for repurchase with relative ease! My favorite book from childhood is “A Little Princess.” It’s about a girl left at a very proper girls school in London while her father was in South Africa getting rich off a diamond mine. She was very rich when she started at the school and the women at the school fawned over her. Later, she received word that her father had lost his fortune and died and the women at the school made her a servant. Rich or poor, though, Sara was the same kind, generous spirit. Also, her father had one more gift for her that eventually arrived.

Reading brings me back memories of my childhood where I can sit all day just reading in a public library waiting for my mom while she' working as a seamstress in town. Watching this video inspired me to get back to it as I lost my touch when it comes to books because I let myself be consumed by social media and screen time. Thank you Paola, because of you I don't check my phone now unless if I need to and I now focus my energy towards baking, reading, music and gardening. This activities fills my soul with gratitude.

It’s funny you mention all day in a library. I LOVE going to a library and can spend hours. It stemmed from the fact we never had a lot of money growing up but I could shop till my hearts content at the library. Magazines, newspapers, genealogy, fiction, non fiction, auto biographies, today they even have kits you can borrow and return, movies cd’s. The one job I hope is still available when I retire is to become a librarian. The world has no idea how important they are. I get that e have the Internet so much is free now but nothing compares to the calm, smells, lighting, mood of a library.

Way back in the early 80s I attended an educators reading convention in Denver and Tasha Tudor was a speaker. Such a darling little person! In the question and answer session she was asked where she got her inspiration for all her beautiful little animal drawings. And she said, "Well, really, roadkill." 500 teachers gasped, then roared with laughter!! Your library looks beautiful! I don't think a day has gone by since I was in 4th grade and really remember that Nancy Drew book (that made my heart actually beat harder) that I haven't read at least before bed.

I too added a home library (floor to ceiling and wall to wall with bookshelves), and it’s my sacred space for reading, resting, dreaming, and gathering myself. We book-loving introverts must have our energy re-charging stations! ☺️ My garden and my library are essential to my well-being. Yours is lovely, Paola. (Mine has green walls too…so calming.) When I was a little girl, my favorite books were Black Beauty, Heidi, and anything to do with the sea and cozy harbors. These books set the tone for my current love of animals and traveling. Paola, first let me say: congratulations, you’ve almost reached 1 million subscribers AND you never fail to create wonderful, inspirational content that makes me fall in love with the world again. When I was 13, my small, yet whimsical space was overflowing with books. I donated many of them a while ago when we moved from a Spanish airbase to the United States. It was hard to let go of the novels I had grown up with…the novels that I treasured. I stashed many of them away in boxes so that I wouldn’t have to part with them. Fast forward a year and a series of events occurred that made me forget how beautiful reading was. I again sold/donated my books because at that time, I lost that sense of passion for reading. When I started watching your channel, I found myself cherishing the little things, like nature and wildflowers and books. You changed my life, I believe. Thank you 💛

One of my wife's favorite childhood books was The Fairy Rebel by Lynn Reid Banks (with the original cover art). She is now sharing that with our daughter, who is so immersed in the magical realm of the story that she asks for it before bed every night. As soon as we tell her we can't read her a bed time story if she isn't in bed, her face lights up, she runs into her room, and dives under her covers for story time! We both love sharing our childhood favorites with her now, and my wife wanted me to share the title with you in case you needed something new on your bookshelves. We both enjoy your videos.

I don't know if you have come across them, but the Tiffany Aching series by Terry Pratchett is wonderful. It paints the fair folk in a not too rosy light, I'm afraid, but is actually quite true to traditional stories. it also turns the image of the story book witch on its head. Also, vitally, it has a girl as the main protagonist and is an inspiration for all girls, young and old. Highly recommended.

Your book area looks lovely! I too am an avid reader. Back before computers my family owned Colliers Encyclopedias and every year they would send a year book to update etc. My Mom always waited till I came home from school so I could open the package and have first dibs on it. Your video reminded me of that happy memory! ❤️

If possible could you please do a full shelf tour in the future? It doesn't have to involve much talking. It can be just filming each row slowly in daylight. I just would like to check out all the beautiful book spines in detail to research the ones I find interesting. It looks like you have such a well curated collection of the topics which I might like too! Greetings from Germany!

I am sure you have enough to think about but, as I watched this, I envisioned you doing a cozy winter book review, now and again, where you shared a book that you have loved. You could read excerpts and just talk about the book in the very cozy setting of your home. Perhaps there could be themes; classic children's books, new fantasy literature, your 5 favorites, a book of the month reading club...etc. As if you don't have enough to do! But it would be lovely!

@@annarodopoulou3602 Yes, my life is great now, in fact. I didn’t say that it’s not. I was simply stating that Paola’s book reminded me of such a good time in my life, it’s still good now, but the time that I was reminded of was a different type of good. It was a magical time filled with hope when I was a child, and now I am an adult, living a different kind of good life, still wonderful and magical. I was just really happy to be reminded of a happy memory. :)

The books that we read as children are so special! I remember a book about Native American masks... It never failed to fill me with a sense of creativity and love for color and expressive design, and an appreciation for the human face in art. Alas, I don’t remember the book’s name nor author, and have vainly tried to locate it online.

I also have quite a collection, mostly Medical, Psychology, Anatomy, Holistic Recipes and Lifestyle, Nature, Apothecary, Foresting, and a few classics also. I’m now entering into my next chapter of my book collection and bringing home more books of the wonderful world of Faeries, Faerie miniatures, DIY Faerie everything and am loving making my home a Faerie, Crystal, Tarot, sparkly, otherworldly, soft, gentle and loving place to find peace, calm, kindness and happiness. Hi Paola, I so enjoyed your video, as always! I am a retired school teacher and have an enormous number of books. My husband has built me 2 gorgeous bookshelves, but I still have many boxes of books. I just wanted to share something I did with my students while reading with them. We "built" a little "barn" in a corner of the classroom. We just used red bulletin board paper to make the "roof." We drew black lines to make it look something like shingles. I traced an enlarged projection of Wilbur ,standing/leaning next to the fence in his yard, onto pink paper. My husband built us a quick little fence for Wilbur's yard. And we borrowed a milking stool from his parents for "Fern" to sit on while she visited with Wilbur. Each day one of my students was allowed to go to "Wilbur's yard" and read to him. It just happened one day one of my asked if he could read to Wilbur! I was so delighted and, of course, let him use his earned time to read to Wilbur. That boy had never shown any interest in reading until that day. It still warms my heart thinking about him. All my students got to have a turn as the days passed. It was so exciting to see their eyes sparkle as each student's turn approached. Must go, ALOHA, Sue (grew up in Hawaii) (now living with woods all around us in northern Maine)

Hello from Northern California, Paola! I discovered your channel about three or four months ago, as I was trying to find youtubers/human beings, who hold nature, books, sel-care, positivity that seemed to flow naturally, even if life was not and sometimes not always great and a sense of humankindness and wonderment dear to their hearts. I just enjoy watching your videos and feeling a sense of calm, remembering to go to that place that is not crazy and filled with a long list, of what I should be doing, what I am not or what I am not doing right, while comparing myself to other people...sometimes it's hard. But, the one thing that has always been my security blanket for as long as I can remember is my love for books, for have two or more in my bag, no matter where I am going, as long as I have a book to delve into when I am waiting for an appointment etc...All is okay with the world. Thank you, so much for your lovely videos, and presence, I appreciate it and I wish you many great vibes, happiness and abundance in life.
