Sounds great. I still love my MS2000. The mod sequencer is great.

the mod sequencer is definitely my most under used part of the synth

I wish Korg would reissue this synth, perhaps with a higher quality build. I had one back in the day, bought it new. Wish I never sold it, it sounded great. Unfortunately it felt pretty flimsy. But I do miss it.

I keep waiting for them to do a reissue like they have with the opsix, wavestate and modwave for the DS1, Wavestation, DW8000..... a revised engine with new effects and hands on control

I have the MS2000 and the MS2000R both. I always wanted to chain them (4 voices never seemed like enough), but my interest waned and I soon went a different direction. They sit, practically unused, in the two boxes I bought them in. I guess I was looking for something that said Polysix, but the presets kept screaming Early 90s Discotheque. They really deserved more love than I gave them.

For a little while I had 2 MS2000s that i polychained into an 8 voice---- unfortunately the voice allocating and the audio-mixing just didnt leave it sounding like a single cohesive synth the way that I wanted. I sold the one but I'm never selling my current one until Im out of music for good (and hopefully thats never)

I love this keyboard, have the blue version. It was not cheap, when it came out. This was the really hot shit from korg, and it is today. I instantly fall in love everytime i see and hear this keyboard. It sounds very PPG wavish. A classic! thank you korg. peace.

Have the blue. Is still after all this yrs a proper poser in the studio. And as always korg = dark sounds quaranteed

I've 3 of these in my life, Everytime I move to a new city I sell my old one before I move and buy another one in the new city... I won't be making that mistake anymore lol.

I own a 2000b, but I never learned how to save a custom sound I've created. Since replicating that ultimate sound once you have it is almost impossible, I would really love to know how to do that. For now I only use it as a midi controller.

Got the latest iteration of the MS2000 (KingKorg). Is the keybed any good on the MS? The KK on this is a bit meh compared to my other synths (Subsequent, Jupiter 50) though sounds great (XMT).
@MRTUNA2 жыл бұрын
keybed is great on the ms2000, i never got along with the KingKorg tho and I really lusted after it when it was first announced
@hermask8152 жыл бұрын
Oh! I've read the microKorg had the same engine as the MS2000. is that true and do they sound the same ? (nearly is good enough for me). Surely the microkorg has waay to few knobs. [me: Opsix owner]
@michelvondenhoff96732 жыл бұрын
@@hermask815 The microKorg is a great little synth (and vocoder). If in the market I would also look for a good used KingKorg. The micro Korg sounds big at a little footprint, yet is harder to play (minikeys) as only has 4 voice polyphony (max 4 notes at a time) that quickly can result in so called "note stealing" (new note is played and other previous note is stopped). This will become an annoyance with long release times in the envelope. A used KK is about €100 more expensive compared to a new mK. Advantages: - 5 octave full size keybed - 16 band (vs 8) vocoder - 3 decent displays for info - plenty of knobs and switches for "realtime parameter Bonanza" - 128 voice polyphony and 2 sounds (timbres) to be played layered or split simultaniously. 3 oscillator per timbre (we're talking MiniMoog kinda territory) - filter simulations of Moog,Oberheim,Prophet 5,TB303, MS20 In the early 2000s I owned a mK and it was a very nice and good sounding synth. The KK is a completly different animal with an even bigger sound.

Don't get the MicroKORG. If you're in the market for it, take a look at the KORG R3 instead. It's basically the same synth but easier to program, has a couple extra features and can often be had for slightly cheaper than the MicroKORG.
@SomeOne-pd6vm2 жыл бұрын
I cannot edit my previous comment, but I forgot to mention the R3 also features 8 voice polyphony which is better than both the MS2000 and MicroKORG. The only reason it didn't catch on is because it wasn't as pretty looking.
