I've used the channel time delayer a bunch of times. I usually go slightly later on the right & slightly earlier on the left. There are a few things in this video that I've never used. Also, I never thought to go to the pin connectors to get rid of an effect on one side. That's pretty neat!

Phase rotator with pins only connected on one side ;-) no comb filtering in mono, though the volume may drop, which may be a good thing!

Great vid! I knew/have used most of these methods, but the ping-pong method and comb filter were new to me. Nice to hear all the options demonstrated like this!

Apart from being great tutorials these videos introduce many to the variety of JS plugins that come bundled with Reaper.. And just how versatile a combination of JS plugins can be.. Max respect for that bass line too..

Channel Time Delayer is my fave plugin for a rhythm guitar, and no need to double track. It's great on backing vocals, too. Strings and Synths. I've even used on MIDI drum cymbals

I've found the free "Wider" plug-in from Polyverse/Infected Mushroom to be my favorite way to do this. It has a super easy to use with a single "width" control, is fully mono compatible, and free. I messed with various ways to do this using Reaper built-in FX, but once I discovered this, that's all I ever use. I believe it uses the method of panning different frequencies left and right like the MDA Pseudo-Stereo. Sounds especially good on pads.

Awesomeness Kenny, thank you 🙏🏼 Plenty of places I can think of using any one of those. Most appreciative of the before and after breakdown.

Thanks Kenny; I can think of quite a few places to use these techniques. I do most of my panning in trim. It's a bit time consuming. I've found that I can emphasize some series of notes by giving them motion, and conversely, I can de-emphasize other series of notes by scattering them in the stereo field.

I use readelay the same way you use the channel time delayer. I just turn the musical length to 0 and adjust the length ms to my liking. Awesome vid!

Great and simple techniques to improve our mono tracks, nice tutorial. Thanks 😀

Cool techniques! One more is to add stereo phase effect, like two phasers set differently, one per each channel (similar to your trick with a phaser on one channel). For this application I've enjoyed a Stereo Chorus from airwindows very much, that is released just recently. By the way when you say that you'll set the Ping Pong Pan frequency faster, you actually make it slower. It's not that important, though I think I should tell you

Great video, lots of useful information. My only critique, I shut the video off two hours ago, and I STILL hear the reverb from the room size 95. Shouldn't be anywhere close to that, it sounds terrible.

Using stereoizer or any other mono to stereo like MStereoSpread and some other melda plugins, izopte Doubler/Imager, Polyverse Wider or Voxengo Stereo Touch worth also being considered ! :)

You could also do a frequency split with crossovers and add effects to different bands separately.

I did use this on a few tracks, and works well, but I have also a plugin from Fiedler Audio stage, which has an LFO in it, if you use this with creativity, it's an amazing extra effect, especially for vocals, I use it on background vocals. It brings more space in those tracks, same with the reaper plugins, you can use also an LFO on the SWS section. This is heavy stuff. Reaper learns me everyday more and more capabilities, which makes my workflow better and faster. Although I just cut a tip of the iceberg.

The issue I have is I can pan left and hear sound, but if I pan right, I hear no sound. is there a way to make it where I can manually pan in any direction with a mono track or do I have to convert it to stereo? (I recorded using a mono mic)

You should specify that you're using FX to simulate a stereo sound for this, I'm trying to just send two mono tracks into a stereo bus and pulling my damn hair out trying to figure out how and I know it's dead simple.
