Creating Stinger Transitions In Keynote For #EcammLive and #Streamdeck
In this video I dive deeper into using the New #EcammLiveBeta Screen Share GreenScreen feature with Keynote.
In this, the third in a series of 5 videos, I'll be walking you through how to create the 'stinger transitions' in Keynote to allow dynamic switching from one scene to another. I'll first show how this would work with Ecamm Live Screen share green screen feature, then I show how to export this as a movie file and set it up as a movie overlay. then we look at how to automate these transitions using stream deck multi-actions.
What I should have mentioned In this video is that when you add a movie overlay into Ecamm Live in this way, it will have no sound. Any idea how to add sounds to such a transparent transition?

Although the iMac screen frame looks nice, I would find it much better showing the full screen so we can read and see all details better. You can set your face somewhere, or just leave it away, as it is not needed for explaination. But thanks anyway!

My background is set to 'no fill' however when in Ecamm Live, the animated overlay(keynote exported .mov file) ends with a black background, even when I exported as ProRes 4444 with transparency. Everything seems like it should work, but it doesn't appear correctly.

Silly question.. why not just use 32 bit alpha transparancy? why do we need to key it out at all?

Not a silly question at all!! In fact, you're totally right... exporting with transparency is the way to go for a stinger transition and that's what I cover towards the end of the video (kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJ-3lmakebKnqrs) This video was part of a series of videos that were specifically about the new feature that had just been added into Ecamm live at the time of recording allowing use the 'green screen' feature on Screen share overlays to key out backgrounds. So this was more a demo of that than anything. That's way I did then go on to show how to export as a file with transparency and import into Ecamm as an overlay that way too.

Excellent feature explanation Alex.- Now- for my first minor criticism of a Take One Tech concept. The 60 second Green Screen “Tips”. I get the brevity part. But Green scene and lighting are often very subtle. Just the minor move of a light, a flag placement, an intensity change can have significant consequences on the Green Screen performance. You know all this. That’s not my point. My point is- that you have to show it. Even in a video “Tip” segment that is meant to quickly convey a technique. Green screen is too nuanced not to demonstrate visually. I would pitch that a 20 second “Tip” showing how light position changes can affect Green screen output is far more illustrative to the viewer than 3 times longer verbal only description. But again I get the “Tips” concept you are going for. I have painfully hacked down video elements to get them shorter as well. Sometimes I spend an hour on a “brilliant” single slide illustration. So proud of my self!!! Laughs. But in the interests of brevity I end up combining it with another “Less brilliant” slide!!! Ha.- Cheers, Mike in Virginia

I am a bit curious about how you have made the overlay with the iMac and the "demo area" inside the Mac. Do you just use a screen share overlay, or is it a overlay with a cut out for the screen share?

In that video I was using an ‘old style’ overlay with cutouts for the screen share portion and the camera, because at the time we did not have borders and rounded corners on camera overlays, nor did we have screen share overlays in Ecamm Live. If I was doing it now, I’d just use the image and then position my screen share overlay over the monitor and a camera overlay with rounded corner and border directly over the top of the area to the right. By the way, do you think this looks better than the way I do it in later videos? Ie without the image of the iMac? I changed to only showing the screen share content and my picture without the mac, because I felt it gave more space on screen for the actual content.

@@TakeOneTech It is definately more easy to do it the way you do it now. I was not a big fan of the way to do it before with overlays, even though it looked OK. The Mac screen you use look good, but that goes for everything you do! So to thange to the more recent look is also good 100%!!
