I think you found the perfect place for that piece of sculpture. Adds that “Je ne sais quois” in the barrel cactus bed. I’ve seen lots of the tapestries but every time I see new ones they take my breath away; all that beautiful color! Ties the whole bed together.

I like the term rubble... same or similar to what we call ‘rip rap’ which I don’t know if it’s some official industry term or something in Phoenix ... rip rap was super popular around the time just before the lending fraud crash of 08.

QUESTION: Can you spell out the name of the upright stiff “grass like” plant please. My very mature ears doesn’t seem to ever catch the name well enough to even guess what it is. I just love the look of that plant. I see it waves but not bend. Thanks Laura, cannot wait for the grand reveal....it is very nice right now....but when you top dress it will totally change into beauty, just like a butterfly.

I live in Canada and I’m so jealous of the plants you get to work with. Do you have any suggestions for colder climate succulents ?
@StonesAndSand3 жыл бұрын
I'm zone 5B USA (southern lower Michigan), and I'm going with cold-hardy sedums and sempervivums. There is such a wide range of species, colors and shapes with those two alone...you'll be amazed. All my non-hardy succulents are potted and go back indoors during the cold months.

what is the name of the plant shown at 4:24 (behind the agave blue glow, the one that looks stemless with long leaves and has flowers)? same plant is also at 7:12 (back of the bed, surrounded with rubble, also with flowers). is that senecio scaposus?

Why not get smaller pots, and skip the toxic plastic filler? I’ve never understood filling pots with things other than plants and dirt. 🤷🏼♂️
