Creating Two Abstract Paintings. Mixed Media, Using graphite, papers. Taking about Composition.

In this video, I create real time, two (2) 12" x 12" abstracts with acrylics, mixed media, graphite, pencil, etc. I talk about how I look at composition, balance of darks and lights and my favorite: "things I love."

What is your substrate paper for this lovely project?

I most always use 140lb paper from Canson or Strathmore. This was I believe the Strathmore 12" x 12" watercolor pad. I use a lot of water and if I need to, I flatten with a piece of wax paper and books on top and they stay flat!!! Or gesso the backs (which I do not do, but others have). I hope this helps my friend

@@CherylWilsonArt thank you so very much for your prompt reply. I assume it was cold pressed. I usually use hot pressed since I add stamping to the finished piece.

I think I’ve used hot press before, but I almost always use cold press. I may dig through my supply and get some hot press bring it out and give it to give it a try again
