As much as i love lore, sometimes, the creation myths become a sticking point as my player may have their own spin, knowledge or preferences, so i either handwave or lean into how complicated it can be, and point out that not everyone would know for sure. One thing i love to do, is have multiple creation myths that various people's believe, and some of the gods might even believe, but then leave some people scratching their head, because the evidence they collected points to something a little more complicated going on. I even like to make cultures who have discarded their creation myths and just say "I don't know" when asked.

There was an early issue of Dragon magazine where Gygax explained that it’s pronounced as if you’re saying Earth with a heavy Brooklyn accent, hence the “Oith” pronunciation.

I think you've conflated Draedens and Obyriths here. The Obyriths match your description of the Draedens, but the Draedens discussed in Fiendish Codex and other 2e and 3.5 books were more neutral in this conflict.

I, personally, hate Greyhawk. This is a personal taste sort of thing, I just found the setting to be so boring compared to all the other D&D settings, however that is one of the purest examples of subjective opinion, but damn I'm glad it's getting some love now. Because sure, *I* don't like it, but *I* know so many people *do love it,* and while *I* might not play another 'official' D&D setting in the near future, I know a lot of people *get joy* out of this setting, whether or now I give two skittles about it. Skittles are, by the way, the worst candy of the main brands of candy. (In short: Fuck yeah! Glad y'all get your campaign setting, FINALLY! Regardless of my personal bias!)

No it's not new, but my point is as other settings came about they retro influenced other settings. Much like how the Plane of Shadow became the Shadowfell retroactively in a lot of creation myths for settings.

Speaking as somebody in the games industry and who has friends who worked under Gary Gygax-run TSR, I wouldn't wish his failure for leadership on my worst enemies.
