I was fortunate to be his Marshall on a tournament. He’s the real deal, a heck of a fisherman with tremendous common sense approach to fishing. He answered every question I asked him. He’s an asset to the sport. I respect him, he’s a class act.

You have been my idol in fishing for years brother, especially you growing up on the Arkansas river fishing and being a legend on lake dardanelle which is my home waters. You gave me the confidence of going to my instincts in shallow water and forgetting the electronics. You still give the best of bass fishermen the confidence that tournaments can be won off shallow cover and banks instead of livescope and sonar.

We could not have a finer fellow with a big heart ♥ of gold too represent our beautiful poor state of Louisiana keep us on our toes fishing your heart and we can't even find one good reason to trade you in for Gerald swindle is my second favorite I watched you Gerald and Skeet battle yalls way into the elite series and to see yall have to go up against KVD and live through the entire event it made yall who yall are today keep up with your passion and I hope to see you hold up the classic trophy soon it would be a awesome opportunity and if you would win it in Louisiana on that jig it would definitely put the icing on the cake I love flipping the biggest cypress trees I can find and you can catch a limit off the same tree looking forward to seeing you next year. 💙

I'm a huge Greg Hackney fan and I really like this style. They really got me when they had that fishing commercial and he said " it's awesome man"! I think it was a commercial for Abu Garcia or Quantum reels I can't remember which. 🤔

I’m also a Greg Fan if you never met him you are missing out he’s my go 2 guy. Let me tell you one of my Greg stories. I met him a few years ago in Shreveport Louisiana I was just told my nephew was killed 😔 I was in a dark place at the time so I headed home and when I turned the corner I saw him and a few pros at the gas station. I was happy because when I saw the boats I knew the bass pros was in town. Make a king story short Greg let me hang with home for 3 days I had a blast 💥 believe it or not I needed that to help me get over my pain

Why do I feel like the bassmaster classic was can't miss TV in the 80s, but now its a total after thought and hard to find on TV? Absolute shame, if you have kids teach them how to rip lips. Haven't really met to many shitty people who like to fish.

Come to California Greg we'll fish some of these Mountain Lakes and the Delta region and if you can do it like you do in Oklahoma Texas Missouri. Any fish the right Seasons when they're eating when they're not eating then you can say you're fisherman you got to be able to catch them all Year bro. Like I said my last post I love you I followed you for years but you Scott Martin Roland Martin and the in fisherman guys come to California let me show you a few tricks when it's super f****** hot excuse my French or when it's super cold. These Lakes you fish that the deep water is 20 ft that ain't nothing we got Lakes out here that are 3400 ft deep when they're on a low pool and if they're full we got water as deep as a thousand feet and in 900 ft there be a bridge or a channel swing that then fish will be sitting on and you got to reel them up real slow so you don't blow out their eyes and their bladder so when you guys talk about deep water 15 20 ft Denny we sight fish that deep out here
@GSUbassdad2 жыл бұрын
@Anthony Tanachion Mud slides, forest fires, fruits and nuts… I don’t know why anyone wouldn’t want to move to California. If you can convince Hackney to move there, I’ll move there too. 😆
@anthonytanachion97812 жыл бұрын
Okay I get it you're not in California so you get to feed all these deers you get to give them all these minerals and protein. And I appreciate all that but why don't you go to a state either California Wyoming Idaho or wherever well you're not allowed to bait them and kill those big deers on public land instead of feeding them and giving them the minerals they need. It's like if you never caught a bass over 10 lb but you're fishing a private pond that you're putting crawdads in you're putting shed and you're putting all these minerals you're doing all this stuff I'm still a 10 lb bass I get it but do it on public land or public water and then brag. I love you Greg I follow you everywhere you go on your Bassmasters and Elite and all that but all you people are talking about hunting these ranches and your your you got food plots and you're giving them knees and you're getting it's not hunting you know they're going to be there you know what time they're going to be there hell you even know what color is poop is I mean come on man hunt public land no feeders no ground blinds you do it from scratch brother and then when you get something big brag to the public about it
@BassmasterOfficial2 жыл бұрын
He’s taking hundreds of acres of land he’s purchased and building it from the ground up. He’s hunted private before, but thoroughly enjoys hunting public land. You didn’t get to see the full day of shooting with Hackney, but he explains his whole passion and vision. Not something you can assume from this video, so unless you know everything about his situation, don’t assume negatively.

Man. Leave California, its a different world compared to states in the east. Also its his land, dudes made some real cash, thousands of acres of land. He's doing a great service
